We started off with the guacamole and it was made tableside. Our server did an amazing job!
My husband ordered the filet mignon fajitas and they were great! I ordered the pablo plate and 2 people can definitely eat off of it! LOL
Make sure to order the corn and flour tortillas they were AMAZING!
They asked if we preferred a more quiet setting, or outside along with a more lively environment.
We decided on the more lively atmosphere!!
Energy was from the guests was full of laughs and conversations
Being Our first visit, a manager visited our table with sample of the steak fajitas
We were sold on the flavor and ordered Steak Fajitas for Two,
Fresh made tortillas and fresh ingredients!
Pablo, over the top and never missed a step!!
Great service, Steak fajita could be cut with a fork and we did Choose Tres Leches. Was good, just not my favorite.
We ordered the beef fajitas for two, and let me tell you, they were fantastic. They brought out chips, salsa, and even a little cup of charro beans as a nice touch, which was a pleasant surprise. When the fajitas arrived, they came out sizzling on a skillet with all the traditional fixings, plus both corn and flour tortillas. The tortillas were homemade, and the flour ones were especially soft and delicious. We even had a bit left to take home, which was a bonus.
Overall, the service was great, the price was reasonable, and we will definitely be coming back. It’s exactly what we hoped for and more!
I came here with my work mates for din din.
Instantly distracted by the promise of queso and a margaritas flight.
Girl just get the queso and barrel marg.
No need for anything else but banging conversation.
I did appreciate vegetarian in menu and the waitor knowing! Yasss big props for dietary knowledge!
I would go back.
Let’s get straight to the main event: The Fajitas. They are, without a doubt, the best in the city. The skirt steak is perfectly marinated, impossibly tender, and arrives sizzling with a heavenly aroma. Every bite is an explosion of flavor, especially when wrapped in their famous tortillas—which I’m convinced are the largest in all of San Antonio! They are thick, fluffy, and the ideal vessel for the spectacular beef and fresh fixings.
Beyond the food, the bar is a serious contender. They offer a wonderful variety of margaritas, from classic lime perfection to unique seasonal specials. You could spend an entire evening just sampling the menu (responsibly, of course!).
But what truly elevates the experience is the team, especially our server, Pablo. If you are lucky enough to be seated in his section, you’re in for impeccable service that is both friendly and efficient. He makes every guest feel like a VIP. And here’s a tip: make sure to ask Pablo for his secret guacamole recipe! He’s the best, and his recommendations are always spot-on.
Lupe Tortilla at La Cantera is more than just a meal; it’s a guaranteed great time. Go for the fajitas, stay for the margs, and definitely ask for Pablo!
The menu looks fantastic and indeed has been fantastic!!! The management and the upkeep both have exceeded my expectations. However, if either of them are working: I am always grateful for the opportunity to be served by them 🙂 They’re irreplacable staff in my mind, and I always look forward to *whatever* service they may provide. They have never shown me a “bad” day on the job, but I am supremely confident that would outshine any other place I’ve been to in the area (honestly, in the last decade *anywhere*) and I cannot praise the help they’ve been and the support they’ve provided for the dining experiences I’ve pursued.
I highly recommend this location, and in particular: I recommend those two as servers!!! 🙂
Ryan was attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and checked on us at just the right times. His positive attitude and professionalism truly elevated our entire dining experience.
It’s rare to find service that makes you feel so valued and cared for. Ryan went above and beyond, and because of him, we can’t wait to come back. If you visit Lupe Tortilla, ask for Ryan — you won’t be disappointed!
