The people that work there are really nice people. This doesn’t seem to be a dining sit down place because in that area the lights were turned off. The shrimp fried rice wasn’t what I was looking for. I was looking for that back in the day rice which is hard to find out here. The rice was way too salty and was dry. It didn’t taste like they used any soy sauce. I also got a steamed white rice which was mushy. If that’s the rice they use to cook the fried rice I think that’s what the problem is. The rice is way too overcooked. The beef and broccoli gave me what I was looking for and was fresh and crunchy. If you looking for that back in the day rice, this place is not for you.

Everything from scratch.
Cleanest restaurant I’ve ever seen.
Amazing staff.
Even better food!
To start off, I came in after they close the restaurant and she stayed open to cook me my meal. She was by far one of the best host I’ve ever had at a Chinese food restaurant. We could even see how spotless their kitchen was!
I will be stopping by any time I am in Zion!

Wonderful Chinese food. They are mainly a takeout place , we were able to dine in for lunch, but the owner says they don’t do dine in for dinner. The food is so fresh, and the owner is so sweet. Can’t wait to come back

We are from out-of-town and decided to give Lung Fung a try. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! The couple who own it were beyond sweet. The food was SO good (huge portions too) that I think it’s ruined us for Chinese food back home. She recommended their egg rolls (don’t recall the specific name) that were the best egg rolls I have EVER had. They take 3 days to make and the effort definitely shines through in the flavor. And added bonus, she took me to the kitchen to show me around and the place was prestine!!! So clean and delicious!!
If you are like me, trying to find a gem among the many options of dining choices, GO HERE!!! You will NOT be disappointed. We are here a couple more days and will be eating there again before we leave.

Very good food. Sesame chicken and the fried rice are solid. I don’t get the hype about the Rangoons, they were very sweet. But, they are still better than most Rangoons in a wide area. The owners/workers are super friendly and care about their diners than most restaurants anywhere. Have already went for a second time and will have many more. Love you Lung Fung!

Stopped in for lunch on our way back to Chicago from just north of Zion and was so pleasantly surprised. Everything is made-to-order and was so fresh! Our group had beef and snow peas, crab Rangoon, hot and sour soup, teriyaki chicken, almond chicken, and Chinese egg rolls. The egg rolls brought me back to childhood and were as good or better than the ones I used to have growing up. The almond chicken was totally different from what I was used to but was fresher, better tasting, and probably healthier.
The food overall was better than most Chinese restaurants I’ve tried in Chicago and I definitely recommend stopping here if you live in Zion or are passing through. Enjoy!!
Of note: the dining-in may be limited due to the owner being in the kitchen and handling orders, so carry out if you can.

Update 2/8/2026
LOOK AT THAT QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF FOOD. THAT EGG ROLL IS STUFFED. Anyways as always, 10/10. I’m now in a food coma.
Thank you Susie and staff for preparing such a wonderful comfort meal. Happy Chinese New Year!

Listen. Im at a loss for words. For so long I have been looking for that perfect Chinese restaurant. One that didn’t over cook the chicken to where it’s a hockey puck, one that didn’t look like it went through a battle zone and could be questionable to the health department. I did some googling and found this place. I saw there was really good reviews. So I drove 20 minutes away, to take a chance. I was greeted with happy smiles. I felt welcomed and not just like another customer. Then Ms. Susie came out of the kitchen. The light on her face when I told her I was from Kenosha. It was then I learned that everything is made fresh daily. They don’t use the previous days food AND I was privileged enough to get a small tour of the kitchen. IT WAS SPOTLESS. IT TAKES HER 3 DAYS TO MAKE EGG ROLLS. She was very generous and gave me a sample of the orange chicken. THE CONSISTENCY WITH THE SAUCE WAS PERFECT. THE AROMA OF CITRUS FROM THE ORANGES WAS POTENT. THE CRISP OF THE CHICKEN BREAD WAS AMAZING. When I got home, I told my boyfriend, I’m going to need you to put this in your mouth. He took a bite of the orange chicken and melted in the couch. “This is the best place ever, I’ve never had Chinese food like this” is what he said after he came out of his coma. We then began eating the rest of our food, and what made it taste better, was the love and passion it took to make sure we ate true, home cooked Chinese food.

I had an amazing experience at this Chinese restaurant! The food was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Every dish tasted authentic and well-seasoned you can tell they use quality ingredients and take pride in their cooking. This was my second time eating here and the cook/owner Susie was very humble and sweet making this one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Look no further than your local Chinese restaurant to be satisfied by tasty dishes.
