American fare served in white-napkin, low-key setting, with live music in piano lounge on weekends.

This place is for sure the epitome of fine dining. There was a live piano player there when we visited. Very romantic environment. If you in the area you need to make sure that you visit here.

DON’T SKIP ON THIS PLACE!! I rarely leave reviews but this place was worth reviewing! People are complaining about it being outdated, but that didn’t bother me a single bit! The ambiance, service, and food were incredible!! Donald, our server, was on top of it! The lobster bisque was alright, but everything else (fried green tomatoes, scallops, grouper, and filet and lobster tail) was so so good! We will absolutely be coming back here!

I cannot recommend Luna’s enough! My fiancée and I celebrated our anniversary there and the staff and owner made it an amazing experience! They brought us roses and a plate that said happy one year. My expectations were throughly exceeded. Our meals were also very delicious and flavorful. The food itself is well seasoned and was well put together. I would recommend the filet and Mac cheese in particular. We have instantly fell in love with this gem on the Gainesville square and can’t wait to go back!

Valentine’s Day dinner at Luna’s is our go to! And this year DID NOT disappoint! I forgot to take pics, but the lobster roll starter was AMAZING (felt like I was eating a decadent dish from the ‘60s), the seafood pasta trio with a full lobster tail was straight up one of the best pastas I have ever had ( including those Michelin/James Beard awarded places). Then the dessert, red velvet cake decadence – oof, so yummy ! If you have not tried Luna’s or have not been in a while, GO!
We sit at the bar so we can enjoy the nights entertainment… Ask for Shaun or Jen!

Bridget and I went to Luna’s last night, and I can honestly say I was impressed from start to finish. Luna’s has been part of the Gainesville area for a long time, and while they’ve changed hands not too long ago, the food and service were absolutely incredible. It had been a while since I last visited, but I was not disappointed in the slightest.
Darryl, the owner, personally shook my hand and made us feel genuinely welcomed and at home. That kind of hospitality matters and it shows. The food was exceptional, the service was on point, and the prices were extremely reasonable especially in an industry where costs have only continued to rise.
If you’re looking for a great date night spot or even a solid work lunch on the square, Luna’s delivers. Huge respect for keeping it local, affordable, and nostalgic for hometown folks like myself. Great job, Luna’s. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Our first time here and it was AMAZING!! We both got Luna’s Hatfield creation and it did not disappoint. We are both foodies so we shared everything. It all was over the top and absolutely delicious!!! Service was excellent as well. Food timing was perfect. Loved seeing one of the owners coming out and speaking with customers making sure everything was good. Will definitely go back.

Oh my gosh!!! I have lived here 3 years. What was I waiting for? Luna’s is AWESOME! Great wine list. Food was beyond fantastic! Started with the French Onion Soup, which was delicious. Then moved on to the trout, which was the best I have ever had! It was prepared with smoked Gouda grits, corn, bacon, jalapeño, etc. Chef’s kiss! My wife had the recommended filet and she loved it. Friends had the fried oysters and loved them. Met Darryl, the owner, who could not be nicer. He said bring your friends. Well, here’s the invite! Come one, come all, for an exceptional meal! We will be back soon.

Let me preface this by saying our waitress Mackenzie was amazing. However, the steaks we ordered came out overcooked, with one so bad we had to send back, sides were bland. Entrees overall were just kinda mid. Salad, bread, and deserts were decent though. Also throwing in the receipt as a photo since the owner replied claiming there was no record of us.

This place isn’t what it used to be. The son of the owner has taken over and he has MUCH to learn. First he said we didn’t make a reservation and when he figured out he was wrong about that he said it didn’t matter. Then I asked why wasn’t the piano playing he said that didn’t matter either even though I wasn’t told it wouldn’t be playing when I made the reservation. He was not only rude but made zero effort to make anything right. The food was good but I didnt make a dinner reservation at a top dollar piano bar on Valentines Day so we could eat listening to your XM radio….

Overall, I would not recommend Luna’s to anyone. It may be my most disappointing dining experience of the year.
Lack of care about our reservation, the food being thrown together and cooked poorly, and the slow and sloppy service combined to disappoint.
We booked a reservation a month in advance for a celebration dinner for 4 of us. Communication prior to the reservation was great.
That is where it ended.
Despite speaking with the manager 3 hours before our reservation, on the day of, our table was not ready when we arrived. There was nothing done for the celebration as planned. Total disappointment.
Service was slow. We could have ordered at least another round of drinks but we waited 15 mins for water, and 30 mins for wine, 2 times. Lots of dropped plates, glasses, and cutlery around us.
For mealtime – We all ordered tasting menus.
Now instead of really making a tasting menu, they brought 4 full portion plates out, and said “Which do you want?” in 4 rounds.
Bread came, no butter, then we were given single serve butters in wrappers for bread?
The salads arrived and the best thing the entire night was the Greek chickpea salad.
The second course consisted of fish or chicken, on top of mashed potatoes, in a FULL entree portion… Everyone said their fish was okay, a little over cooked. Black cod and snapper were the favorites.
Now for the 3rd course: 4 FULL entrees with MORE mashed potatoes. Come on now.
The lamb was cooked correctly. The lobster was overcooked, over salted, and dry. The steaks were overcooked to med well (everyone at the table said med rare). One was sent back.
The desserts came, and they tried to make up for the other stuff, by bringing 4 people who had eaten basically 1.5 entrees of food, every single dessert on the menu. It was supposed to come with 4, so they gave us 6 or 7. The thing about it, we didn’t want more food. We just wanted what was left, to be good. It was mid and a waste of dessert. We didn’t finish one of them.
$530 spent. The only reason that I was okay with everything that night, was that it was a gift to my friends for their anniversary, and I didn’t want the night to be ruined by this meal.
