We probably should’ve checked reviews before sitting down, but we didn’t. We decided to stay and give it a shot and it wasn’t the best decision.
Pizza is my favorite food. I grew up in Venezuela with a strong Italian influence and I’ve lived in the US for years, so I’m very picky about pizza. Everywhere we travel, we always order at least one pizza.
So far, in Mexico City, Oaxaca, and Puerto Escondido, pizza has consistently been disappointing. I love Mexican cheese and bread, but for some reason pizza here just doesn’t taste or feel right.
This place was no exception. The pizza felt underbaked, and the toppings tasted raw, almost like they were placed on top after baking. The balance of flavors just wasn’t there.
The service wasn’t good enough to make up for it, and the prices are a bit high considering the quality.
It’s already hard to find good pizza in Mexico, but I’d honestly skip this spot entirely.

Terrible pizzas and even worse service. Tried to come one night and was turned away even though the restaurant wasn’t closed. Made a reservation next time to ensure seating but when telling the waitress she was rude and said she didn’t know about reservations. A customer ensured us to just take any seat we like. This made us super uncomfortable. We thought there was pasta but there’s ONLY PIZZA on the menu. The pizza crust was super bland and tasted like straight flour. The ingredients used for the pizza were not quality and none of the pizzas had red sauce which was odd. Try another Italian spot if you’re looking for pizza and pastas.

Good things about Luna Rosa.
However, since over a year ago, they changed the menu, only pizzas are offered, no salads no appetizers. Quite disappointing. It was great before – Don’t change it!

Great tasting pizza, good service, no complaints. You can pay with a card, the service was just as fast and any other in PE, and the servers were friendly. We didn’t experience any of the issues that previous reviews complained about. We recommend.

A fantastic spot to enjoy pizza with friends or family. Our group of six ordered two large pizzas with four different flavors. While I wasn’t a huge fan of one pizza that used hot dogs instead of sausage, the overall flavor was decent. There are a few adjustments I would suggest. Nonetheless, the atmosphere is wonderful, and our waiter was exceptionally delightful and kind.

I have been here many times and every time the food has been delicious. I have had the pizzas many times and they are also great. The owner prides himself with supporting the community and using fresh ingredients. He definitely has bragging rights. Thanks for being my go to Italian experience in puerto. 🙂

We only tried the pizza. It was great.
The chairs and tables are not really comfortable, some of them are unstable. The tables are located in a parking slot, so there is not a lot of space to sit or move.
The service was good, we were warned that the pizza would took 40 minutes, it ended up taking 60 minutes, there is only 1 waitress and a lot of people eats here so…
Tldr: Great food, can improve a lot both in service and atmosphere.

The coffee they serve in the morning is amazing! Perfectly dialed in. Finca DeLas Nieves beans. The barista knows his stuff. Definitely the best in Puerto. Highly recommend.

Pizza was good and plenty, nothing to complain. Kind service, also good magaritas and wine. You can have the pizzas half-half which is really convenient.

Smells great, but the pizza is okay and the pasta is quite tasteless. Go down the road to La Spezia instead – they have real Italian food. Service was great though, and the wine also. And the large pizza is GIANT!
