One thousand stars ✨ Luna Pizza Cafe is a hidden gem, nestled in the heart of Downtown Clayton, and truly deserves the biggest recognition. We’ve searched high and low around Raleigh & surrounding areas for authentic Neapolitan pizza and Luna is the only place that nails it every single time. Also, huge shoutout to the kindest waiter ever, Kayla. We’ve official found our weekly pizza spot

We love Luna and are so happy they opened in Clayton after closing the North State Food Hall location. This appears to be a brand new building and the atmosphere is very similar to the one in Greenville. You could go for a casual lunch or dress up for a dinner date. They have a few options that can be adjusted for gluten and dairy sensitivities. Everything is delicious! We got the mushroom appetizer and two pizzas—margherita and a build your own with sausage and pepperoni. The bathrooms are single stalls, and the women’s had a changing table.

Ate here for the first time yesterday and was HIGHLY impressed! The inside was nice, the staff were very helpful and informative and the food was SO GOOD. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and it was slammed with flavor. I will be a regular at this place!

New to the area but not to Italian cuisine, I can honestly say the pizza crust is phenomenal in and of itself, the perfect balance of crispy and soft with an incredible chew. I got the Greek pizza and it was perfect in the balance of salt, savory and acidity. I cannot wait to try the other items on the menu. My favorite Italian dessert is Tiramisu and I am PICKY about it…so when I found out it wasn’t exactly traditional, but instead the chef’s take on it, I said ok let’s go. When I tell you I would marry someone over that tiramisu, I am dead serious. Amazing texture, flavor and the perfect amount of sweet. The staff was friendly and expedient, service was very quick and the atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable. I will definitely recommending it to everyone and will make it a regular stop for myself!

We finally got the chance to check out Luna Pizza and really enjoyed everything that we got! Their menu sounded really good so it was hard to choose. Their cocktail menu was also really intriguing – we’ll have to go back to check it out!

We got the single order of the Panzanella Salad and it was really nice and refreshing. It had tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, house croutons, mozzarella, salami, white balsamic vinegar, and olive oil.

It was the perfect refreshing compliment to our Crisp Eggplant Pizza! The pizza was topped with a tomato or white sauce (we chose tomato), mozzarella, breaded eggplant slices, shaved Parmesan, and fresh basil.

To round out a great meal, we got the Tiramisu. It came served in a cup which we found unusual for a tiramisu, but boy was it good! It was cookies, mascarpone, whipped cream, espresso, chocolate, and marsala. You could really taste the espresso and the cookies soaked everything in beautifully.

So glad that Luna opened up in Clayton and we hope to be back soon!

First off, if you haven’t been to Luna Pizza then please go! The pizza is amazing! My wife gets the GF Greek and tonight I got the bacon jalapeño which were both delicious. A special shout out to the owner John and our server Rachel. Rachel was so attentive and super friendly!

I read some reviews and decided to give this a chance with my family.
TLDR – Seek another restaurant.

I grew up in Italy For the first 20 years, then my parents and I moved to the US, we all know how to cool, we have family recipes and went out often while in Italy.
Today, we had a rough day so while traveling we saw this place. There were very few people in the restaurant, and more servers standing idle than I have ever seen + a “we’re hiring” sign. So we expected to be seated rather quick. It took 20 minutes to get a table all while we were staring at 5 free tables. The staff just kept looking around at eachother, talking, and doing nothing. I know how servers work here, they have assigned tables and everything, but this was not ok.

We got seated and they brought out an unlabeled bottle, that looks like a reperposed wine bottle. They started pouring and said “anything else other than water”. We asked what kind of water it was, they said “tap water”. We were disgusted right away, and asked if it was even filled and they said “I think so”.
We asked for different water and they said we could only get that if we paid per person for a sealed bottles of sparkling water. We rejected that and decided to just get some drinks.

The drinks were awful, watered down and gross. We asked for wine, the server was very rude and didnt even apologized. The wine was okay at best. For a place that is attempting to be fancy, they are doing terrible.

We ordered a few apps, they came kind of quick, but they all were rather small portions and not very well done.

We got our pizza after about an hour and it was just okay again. The crust was done well on the outer edges, lots of leopard spots, but the center was soggy and undercooked on all of the pizzas. If you dont like the taste of Char, you will kot like this pizza. If you somehow like char and also like soggy puzza, this is the place for you.

The deserts were for sure a spin on the authentic, not terrible hut also not really something that hit the spot.

Our bill was over $200 and I have to say it was not worth it at all. We will not be coming back.

I wish this business luck, because it will need it to survive.

Absolutely wonderful first impressions! Very attentive, kind and joyful hostest, quick service, food is AMAZING! I had a Flatbread pizza that was Gluten Free, the accommodate GF and Vegan, the sauce was unlike any sauce I’ve tasted anywhere else and the crust was cooked to perfection. I’m not even exaggerating this at all. Just amazing and I will definitely be back! Also can not beat the prices!

We really enjoyed our meal here! The pizza was delicious, the meatballs and eggplant dish were as well. Service was great and drinks were priced reasonably. Somewhat of a limited menu but when you do things right, you don’t need a lot of choices. We will be back!
