Make sure to call ahead.
We were a party of 10 (two toddlers and baby)
We waited 1hr and 40 min for our food.
Food was good for the value and we were pleased with the food. But it’s hard to look on the bright side when the wait time was that long.
At least warn us about the wait time so we could go out on the boat or something.
The old mechanical horse was cool. Our toddlers loved it but the coin slot did get jammed a few times.

Do not come here new if you want fast food. They have 2 guys working and all they do is talk. Expect to wait 30-40 minutes for a simple order. Although the wait time is bad, the shop it’s self is very local and nice. I recommend ordering ahead.

Best place at Smith Mountain Lake. Can’t wait for them to open up for the season so I can order a boat load of BLTS. The food is always great and everyone is so friendly. Make sure to call your food in early if you don’t like to wait.

The food is delicious. We went for breakfast. My wife ordered the special for that day which was biscuits and gravy with fried country ham and a pancake. Best pancakes we’ve ever had. I ordered the pork tenderloin with biscuit and a pancake. Like I said earlier yummy. The coffee wasn’t much to be desired, but my wife has all the special coffee making supplies so it’s hard to find a good cup of joe anymore. Lol. Expect to be seated outside under a shelter on picnic tables. Also recommend calling ahead unless you don’t mind waiting an hour. I can honestly say waiting for those pancakes is worth it. If you say you want to do their pancake challenge you get three pancakes to eat in under 30 minutes. If you complete the task your meal is free. Definitely planning on coming back in the future. When we go back I’ll be doing the challenge for sure.

Went back this past summer August 2025. Did the pancake challenge. Beat it with 10 minutes to spare. But beware you’ll need alot of syrup and plenty to drink to win. If you don’t your mouth will get dry and you won’t finish. It looks real easy until about 3/4 of the way through. Then it gets rough. But it is very doable if you come hungry. I won’t be doing it again once is definitely enough don’t want to ruin pancakes for myself. Lol. They do give it to you for free when you win. But you’re just winning all kinds of future health issues possibly. Otherwise its going to cost around $25. Still love the food everything is delicious. Still 5 stars in my book.

***ONLY ACCEPT CASH OR CHECK*** We made the mistake of having no cash the first time, but we still came back. Really good breakfast food. A true hidden gem on this lake. Pancakes are huge, but delicious. Recommend calling ahead so you won’t have to wait. 10/10 would recommend and return.
