Lume Asian Fusion Offers High-Quality Meats in Manassas
Reviews
As a Korean myself, I’m typically skeptical of
Asian fusion restaurants but I was so impressed by the well thought out pairing of flavors. The poke tuna was fresh and the charred flavor on the meat for the spicy pork belly was such a nice authentic grill taste. From timely service to innovative flavors and a beautifully curated drink menu, we had such a wonderful experience and will be adding this spot to our regular rotation.
Hats off to the chef, mixologist, and the service team!
*not photographed was the homemade ube icecream which my daughter claimed to have been one of the best things she’s ever eaten, granted she is 13 years old!
LUME absolutely knocked it out of the park! We ordered the edamame, wings, dumplings, spicy pork belly ramen, kids ramen, a rice bowl with spicy chicken, and the belly burger—every single dish was incredible. The flavors were bold, fresh, and perfectly balanced. You can truly taste the care that goes into the food.
I didn’t catch the name of the gentleman who runs the kitchen, but he was amazing—so welcoming and passionate about what they’re creating. He shared that his wife curates the drink menu and generously brought us samples of the espresso martini and the biscotti martini… both were soooo delicious and dangerously smooth. He even brought probiotic drinks out for my kids, which was such a thoughtful touch, and gave us a sneak peek at the upcoming Valentine’s Day menu (we will definitely be back for that!).
Our waitress was phenomenal as well—attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience feel special from start to finish.
Food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all top-tier. LUME is a gem and we can’t wait to return!
Pros:
The ramen was really fresh and hot, noodles had great texture. The canoli buns were delicious with great texture. Nachos are awesome and come in a massive size, great for sharing for 3-4 people. The server was super friendly as well.
Cons:
Some of the worst tap water I ever had in my life, avoid at all costs. Not really a con, but I wish the bulgogi ramen had an option for spice or chili oil. That would make the dish a 10/10.
I’d go again!
Atmosphere: inviting and welcoming , just a little bright. There was a big overhead light that seemed a little too bright to our liking. But nitpicking really.
Service: our waitress Natalie was great . Super nice and talkative. Hosts were very nice as well.
Food: we got the bulgogi tacos for an appetizer and both of their ramens for dinner (spicy pork belly and bulgogi beef ) .
Tacos were extremely tasty. Really savory beef and a refreshing crème fraiche . My only critique would be the corn tortilla need to be lightly fried or toasted as they were really dry and didn’t complement the beef/other fillings well.
Overall, in the broad scheme of ramen, it was tasty, with the spicy pork belly a step above the bulgogi. The bulgogi ramen broth was really really sweet which I feel takes away from what could be nice flavors. The sweetness overtakes everything else.
In general, the food was a little overpriced for what you got.
We got a couple drinks, one of their pear drinks and the mango green tea. Both very delicious.
Final recommendation:
Should check out Lume if in the manassas area but it is overpriced for the quantity and quality you receive .
Wish I had more photos. There are meals and fries for picky eaters to try as well as for little ones.
Great music too!
As for the food, it was satisfactory but not particularly impressive, highlighting a clear Asian fusion of Korean and other Asian cuisines. The appetizers were decent, although the prices felt a bit steep for the quality and portion sizes. The combo platter was acceptable; the salad with mango dressing stood out, but the beef didn’t meet expectations in terms of quality. Additionally, the salmon poke was quite small, which didn’t justify its price. Overall, while there were some redeeming aspects, the restaurant did not live up to its reputation.
