Every plate comes with a complementary rice you get a 10% discount for seniors & military. This is a black owned establishment. It’s more like an order to go, but you can dine in. I got the mac & cheese with greens fish, rice, and cornbread. The food is great Season to perfection and served with a smile. They make their own seasoned tartar sauce, and hot sauce. The tartar sauce goes very well with the fish.They offer daily specials. When I went, it was three pieces of fish for $10. The lemonade is homemade. It tasted great and very thirst quenching although I could stand a little less sugar. I suggest you give this place a try. It was quick in and quick out. Parking could be somewhat difficult, but this is an express where many people come just to pick up. The restaurant is quaint and cozy. Stop in and tell them Lisa sent you. Be aware that LOTS of food comes on the plate. If I’m remembering correctly my servers name was Sydney thank you for your great service. btw My total was 19 bucks but 17 with the discount. every time I’m in Charlotte I try to make my way over to Lulu’s when I can. The food is always a hit 10/10 & and the service is welcoming and friendly. We even got some recommendations for other things to eat/do in Charlotte. the quality and taste of the food is so worth it and I’m a foodie, so I don’t say that lightly. they make the food with love, so you may wait longer than the DRIVE THRU, but please go!!!! 1000% worth it. I’ll be back many more times

I ordered the catfish plate and the fish was seasoned good but I didn’t care for how they fried it, it was soggy and battered with what appeared to be flour.. which explains why the fish came out soggy. I’m from the Midwest and we fry our fish using cornmeal which allows it to fry with a crispy texture. We had no condiments in our bag and when we went back in to let them know they forgot, they said we don’t put any condiments in unless you ask. They charged $5 for a piece of cornbread, and I wanted to try it because I said this cornbread must be slappin.. to my disappointment it was only jiffy cornbread with some so called honey butter spread… NOT!!! I wanted to give them a try, but won’t be coming back again.

I thought I was getting fried chicken… turns out I got an oil sponge with a side of sadness. The fries? Soggy little survivors of a grease storm. The chicken? Crunchy on the outside, bone-dry on the inside, like it’s been deep-fried in disappointment. Even my soda looked like it was trying to escape the meal. I wouldn’t feed this to my worst enemy. Whoever’s cooking needs a long vacation — far away from the kitchen.

This is some of the best seafood I’ve had in a long time!!! The food was so good the atmosphere was nice!!! Staff was cool!!!! I got the Fish and shrimp plate with collard greens and Mac& cheese and cornbread…. With a side of lemon pepper wings. My husband got the crab Fries added grilled shrimp Y’all should check them out!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!!

I stopped by, I do not regret it one bit and it’s worth experiencing.
Catfish Platter — 4.5/5. My girl ordered this is and she loved it. The flavor of the yams and the mac, perfect sides for the catfish and rice.
Cajun Salmon and Shrimp — 4-4.5/5. I loved everything about this but the only thing is I didn’t get that Cajun kick I was expecting. That aside, the mac was delicious and the greens did justice. If the Cajun cream sauce had some spiciness to it, this would easily be a 5/5 meal.
I’ll be back to try some more.

First time visiting here, decided to try the crab cake. The crab cake was delicious and meaty, but the wait was almost an hr. While waiting, I watch others come order and leave. 45 mins wait for crab cake is a no me. Definitely delicious for sure.

I don’t even usually like fried fish, but LuLu’s might’ve changed my mind! We got the fried fish and shrimp platter with seafood mac, asparagus, and collard greens—and everything was so good. The fish was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the shrimp were juicy, and the seafood mac was rich and flavorful without being too heavy.
My only small critique is that the asparagus portion was pretty small, especially considering there’s an upcharge for it. Would’ve loved just a little more of that. Also, they add a bit of sugar to the collard greens. They were still really good, but just a heads up if you’re not a fan of sweet greens.
Overall, everything hit. Definitely a solid soul food spot I’d come back to!

I ordered the Sunday special for the day, a baked turkey wing. It was so salty, it was inedible. I also ordered a crab cake and fried shrimp combo. The rice, mac and cheese and yams were really good. The crab cake was delicious however, I was given grilled shrimp instead of fried after I confirmed I would, and did, wait longer for them. I could not see them when they showed me the box because it was dark and they were under the crab cake but I was assured since I waited for them to switch the oil, I would be getting the shrimp fried. I was disappointed when I got home and saw I was given what they wanted me to have instead of what I ordered, waited additional time for, and was told I’d be getting.
