Lulu’s Tavern was fabulous. We were traveling through for work. Although the wait was long we had a great experience. I had the boiled shrimp. My husband had the 1/2 Hickory Smoked Chicken.

The food was wonderful! I had a 1/2 rack of ribs and my wife had shrimp, and there was enough left for lunch the next day. My only complaint was there were too many people there, all wanting to eat! We will definitely be returning.

We arrived at 3:00pm this evening and was hoping to enjoy our very first experience at Lula’s. We were told to get there early as they fill up quickly and they don’t take reservations. We were the first ones there. Others started to arrive following us in the parking line. A group of intoxicated individuals got out of their truck and stood by the door after the rest of us were clearly there prior to them. We got out and stood by the door to follow until Lula’s opened. We stood outside for 30 minutes in the cold. They opened the door and had all the bigger parties (clearly who arrived right before they opened) and let them in front of us smaller couples leaving several standing outside without any room. It clearly does not matter how early you get there or if you stand in a line because the larger parties go first. What an absolute disappointment for those of us hoping to enjoy a dinner. After we had waited for an hour prior to them opening, we felt so disrespected and decided to leave and enjoy dinner at another establishment on our travels home.

Had an absolutely wonderful dinner last night at a local favorite. The steak was cooked to perfection with so much flavor. The shrimp were HUGE. They say it’s a pound however I’m guessing it’s more. And the baked potatoes were the length of my forearm.
If you go, bring cash, they don’t accept credit cards. However you’ll not have to bring much. My bf and I ate all that food for the price that we would have paid for just one of us to eat elsewhere.
Terrific value for a delicious meal at a local staple.

Ok, with that being said, our overall experience was decent.
This place has been recommended to us several times, especially the shrimp & steak entrees, but we opted to keep it small on our first visit. We chose the cheeseburgers and split an order of poppers. Our food arrived fast and was tasty. The price for what we got was very reasonable.
The staff was super friendly and very attentive. We arrived at 5 on a Wednesday night, and we got right in with no wait time.
I would definitely visit again to try some bigger items on the menu, as long as we had the cash in hand.

What occurred on December 30th, 2025 at Lula’s was both disappointing and inappropriate. The behavior towards myself, wife and son was racially offensive and unacceptable. In addition, several adults were openly mocking another adult over his clothing, which was uncalled for. But then waitstaff, “Dana” refused to take our order until my son pulled his shirt down to cover the 1 inch of underwear band showing while sitting on a bar stool. Not to mention he is very tall. The customers exact words to Dana were “You dont have a hair on your a$$ to tell him that!” Real classy folks real classy. Dana chose to follow the behavior of others rather than act professionally. Overall, the experience was upsetting. Don’t waste your time reaching out to the owners if you have a issue because they won’t respond. They clearly don’t care about wait staff and customers being racist towards other customers within their establishment. FYI THEY OWN THE BRICK AS WELL.

Small place ,bare bones , good old time place,party of 8 had to wait short time. For Thursday night was busy. Shrimp was cooked just right with no rubbery taste. Baked potato huge , 2 people could share. Crab legs were plentiful dinners came with roll , salad and side. Cheeseburger , served with hand cut fries. 1/2 order fries served 2 people easily. Another person had salad , grilled chicken sandwich. Steak was cooked to order , sweet potato large . All the food was excellent. For 4 grown ups , 3 children , 1 toddler our check was $116.
For variety of food was great. Server was on top of everything She had more tables to serve as well.

If you come with a large group you may wait a minute but it’s worth it! The servings are huge you are not going to leave hungry! Definitely recommend the shrimp with an extra melted butter and spicy seasoning.

Waited over an hour to be seated. Left when people who arrived after us had been seated while we still waited. Place is too small and under staffed. We got there at 4 when they opened and still never got seated. Won’t even bother to try again
