Beautifully warm and cozy with a variety of seatings that work great for dates, friends or family meals. I love that the back room turns into a speakeasy, it def feels like one. The food was well executed with delicate yet surprisingly Cambodian flavors. Everything we ordered was excellent, my kids loved their fried rice and chicken. I want to come back and try other items on the menu, esp the curry. Loved our evening meal here. A neighborhood gem ❤️

Cannot believe this was my first time to Lula Mae! We had a lovely “family date” with my toddler and everything was perfect. Ambiance was more of a vibe than anticipated, the service was friendly and prompt, the menu was unique and flavorful and there was even a kids menu! All in all a perfect evening out; we’ll be back!

The dishes here were unfortunately mostly disappointing. The fried tofu with hot sauce tasted exactly like that— no amazing spices, no southeast Asian flavors. The salmon carpaccio was so bland, it needed some salt and citrus badly. The green beans were undercooked, which also means they don’t soak up the flavor. The fried branzino was the only dish that tasted pretty good, but don’t know what happened to all the meat on the fish as there was barely any.

Have been in search of quality Khmer food and have been looking forward to coming here for quite a while. Not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed. The tuk trey koh kong wasn’t as potent as I expected it to be, but the oysters were good. The meekatang had a lot of woodear mushrooms and lacked some flavor. The wings were pretty good. Overall, it just didn’t taste very authentically Khmer. Maybe I have to try it again.

Unfortunately the short rib was unavailable but overall the meal was good.
Fried chicken and the duck were great mains and the morning glory was very flavorful. I think the crab fried rice was a slight miss because it lacked flavor and the fried rice noodles was interesting but definitely too saucey.
Overall cute restaurant and would recommend.

Lula Mae delivered the perfect night out with delicious oysters, creative cocktails, and fun dinner vibes with friends. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, and everything from the drinks to the seafood felt fresh and full of flavor. ✨

guys. i’m telling you right now, if you want to have the perfect birthday party with the best food, vibes, and intimacy – book your private party here. i had about 40 people (max capacity) in the private room and it was perfect and beautiful. this was genuinely the best experience i’ve had throwing a birthday party. mark, beth, and the chefs, and our amazing bartenders made sure the vibes and atmosphere and efficiency of the party flow was on point. the guests raved about the food: (wings, beef sticks, fried rice, mee kathang noodles). they also enjoyed the drinks and the atmosphere of the back room. i cannot recommend lula mae enough. whether it’s for an intimate date in the front or a fun birthday party in the back room, this is where you need to come. as a cambodian girlie i highly recommend. lula mae u guys are the best!!!

I’ve been wanting to go here for ages very excited to try Cambodian food, but never had the time. Whenever I looked the reservations were always booked, so when I went I got one of the earlier times. NOTE: do not let the lack of resos deter you and just walk-in. My friend and I shared appetizers & got the following:
– Lady lime oysters: 3/5 ehhhh nothing special for the price
– Stir fried morning glory: 4/5 good
– chicken: 3/5 ok. This doesn’t seem to be on the menu anymore.
I can’t say I really felt like I got a unique Cambodian experience. Def more fusion than I wanted & there were more drink options vs food. I was missing different dishes . I loved the drinks though! And they have some type of happy hour deal on Wednesday bc the recent graduates were everywhere. Don’t think I’ll be coming back but it’s worth checking out!

The best Cambodian cuisine ( Khmer food) in Brooklyn. The drinks are very flavorful. The beef skewers are so authentic. It has smell of Brohok and kaffir lime leaf which balance of the sour flavor of medium rare beef. Make the combination and texture so perfect with one bite. It is a must try dish. The environment is so romantic with the drink n food. Highly recommended for a chilling evening dinning. Lastly, the braise duck is so good with the mix of French cuisine style .

Delicious food and good vibe. Was here for a special guest chef menu of nouveau Cambodian. Calling it a Cambodian food is not quite fitting and neither can I distinguish the subtle flavour or characteristic found in the typical cuisine ( lack of knowledge therefore)
So what is it exactly? I just know that we clean the plates and wanted to come back and sample the regular menu next time. Portions were definitely on the smaller side.
