We went to Luktung with a big group of friends and had a nice evening. The place has a relaxed vibe, the staff were friendly, and it’s a good spot if you want to order a bunch of dishes to share.

We tried the satay set, Chinese wings, pad thai, babi ribs, and sambal balado, with jasmine rice and roti on the side. For dessert we had the pisang goreng. The Chinese wings and sambal balado were definitely the best dishes. The satay, pad thai and ribs were fine but not amazing.

Some of the portion sizes felt a bit inconsistent, which made sharing a bit tricky with a big group, but overall the food was tasty and well presented. The pisang goreng was a nice sweet finish.

Overall, it was a good experience and the food was enjoyable. I probably wouldn’t rush back, but it’s worth a try if you’re in the area and want to have a dinner with friends.

As an Indonesian (Southeast Asian), I can say Luktung comes very close to authentic flavors. Their Nasi Goreng with melted egg yolk is outstanding. You can taste the char from the wok, and the kecap manis is perfectly caramelized, just like back home.

The service is top-notch: staff are super helpful, friendly, and quick.

I lived in Poland for 2 years and now reside in Italy, but every time I return to Krakow, I make sure to visit Luktung. It’s my go-to place to cure homesickness and reconnect with the flavors I grew up with.

Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Indonesian comfort food in Krakow!

The experience at this place was a bit perplexing. The concept of sharing smaller plates among your group is intriguing, and with 3-4 dishes shared between two people, you’ll find yourselves more than satisfied. Their cocktail selection is extensive, featuring some options on a rotating menu, which adds a nice touch. However, the quality of the dishes was inconsistent. One of their standout offerings, a squid dish, fell flat—it tasted like an over-grilled squid you might find elsewhere rather than something special.

The restaurant presents itself as aiming for an upscale feel, with its rotating menu and stylish décor. Yet, there are noticeable missteps. Some seating areas evoke more of a fast-food chain atmosphere, and small details like the mismatched napkin holders and plastic serving dishes break the illusion of refinement. The overall impression is that the restaurant hasn’t quite found its identity. It’s caught between casual and upscale, and in trying to cater to both, it doesn’t fully satisfy either audience. A more defined vision would elevate the experience.

Laughably bad, patently inauthentic “Pan Asian” restaurant.
Nothing about this place is good. The staff were cold. The food was terrible. The attitude is pretentious. The drinks are trash. And the space is uncomfortable and cramped. You are practically sitting with the table next to you.

This food seemed like it comes from some cheap American mall food court. Totally lacking in any proper flavours, and most were small portions meant for small children, not grown adults to share.

Pad Thai was seriously lacking wok hei somehow. And what’s with the chilli powder? And uncooked sprouts? No thanks. Why are white people obsessed with raw bean sprouts? I appreciated that it wasn’t packed with filler veg that non-Asians always love putting in their “pad thai”. No carrots, beans, broccoli, etc. That was one positive. Couldn’t finish it though. It just wasn’t good.

Som tum just tasted like a bland salad and was not macerated enough to really blend the dish together. No fish sauce or palm sugar flavours. No heat either. Holy Basil…um, didn’t have any basil. And simply did not taste right. It’s one of my favourite Thai dishes and this is the second worst one I’ve ever had. Didn’t really eat it. Servers seemed completely disinterested in the fact we didn’t eat/enjoy the food.

My favourite part was the “no chopsticks” rule. How utterly pretentious. I will pay attention to what this place considers the authentic way of eating when they actually make authentic Asian food.

They didn’t get a single one of the many cuisines they are trying to mimic right. You want to be called authentic and yet use the words “stir fry”? Lol. Gimme me a break. And those Chinese wings look like they came from any cheap Chinese take-away in some small Scottish village, complete with being drenched in neon red-coloured synthetic sauce. How embarrassing. Lucky I never go anywhere without my own chopsticks! Loved the nasty looks from the servers.

The “tapas”-style plates are all over the place in size. Totally inconsistent. You have no idea if you are going to get a single skewer of satay, or a whole regular-sized meal plate of food. So, they also don’t seem to grasp how tapas works. These are not “sharing plates”. It’s just a menu with some snacks and some meals, at random.

If you’re actually SE/E Asian, run fast and far away.

I look forward to the owner’s seething, unprofessional response.

I’ve visited this restaurant many times, and each time I’ve left satisfied. The atmosphere is truly amazing, crafted with attention to every detail. However, the most important aspect is the food – the flavors transport me straight to Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia! If you’ve been to Asia, you’ll definitely appreciate the authenticity of the dishes. The “share” concept is a huge plus, allowing you to sample many different plates. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a culinary adventure!

What a special place! I’m here in Krakow as a solo traveller and I felt so warmly welcomed and cared for during my visit here. Music, lighting and ambiance get a 10/10 for me.

Excellent cocktail and wine recommendations from Philip. Their food is fragrant, textural, layered in spice, and full of life. I enjoyed the green curry and some satay skewers, but it was honestly so hard to choose! I wished I were dining with friends so we could try it all.

For drinks I had their pandan negroni – a lighter twist on the classic negroni – and some delightful white and orange wines from their small but extremely thoughtful wine list, which was perfectly tailored to the style of spicy aromatic foods they are serving, I don’t think you could make a wrong decision on that front.

I highly recommend you head there and enjoy a delightful dinner at this spot!

The food is authentic and very tasty! However, it’s only the second place in Poland, never mind Krakow, wherewhere I’ve thought the portions were a bit small.

It’s got a trendy hipster vibe. We went on a weekday evening and found parking nearby on the street very easy. Great option for a date, you could probably get away with bringing kids.

All in all, I’d be back, but it’s not at the top of my list.
