After nearly 67 years in business, Luigi’s Restaurant is closing its doors. We had planned on 2025 being our last year. We had an opportunity, and we took is. Les and I want to enjoy life before we get to old to do so. We didn’t publicize our closing, but instead, offered our last week to our loyal, longtime regulars. We did our best to notify all of them, and we’re sorry if we missed anyone. It was not intentional. Our regulars knew that closing was something we’ve been working towards for the last few years. We have sold our building, but our business is still on the market. Hopefully, one day, Luigi’s will rise again with new owners who will love it as much as our family has loved it. Until then, Grazi, and Arrivederci!

Classic Italian cooking since 1958 in a retro room with red-checkered tablecloths & chianti bottles.

The service was outstanding. It’s been around for long time. Cozy, little restaurant Italian. Waitress super nice. Super friendly, clean restrooms. Good old timey feel. I Liked the ravioli, the spaghetti sauce and the spinach, ravioli were not. My cup of tea a little watery in the sauces. They tasted to me. My wife had a chicken Alfredo I think it was the noodles and Alfredo sauce were great. The chicken was what kind of strip chickens you can get at grocery store Like I said, the service was excellent in the ambiance was excellent.Food was just so so.

Tried Luigi’s last night and wasn’t fully impressed. The atmosphere was cute. The staff was wonderful. We did not have reservations (did not realize) but they still sat us to dine in. So I am grateful for that! Overall, the place is cute and fun with a great comfy and warm vibe.

Not pictured, toddlers got fettuccine Alfredo and the sauce was kinda thick/clumpy looking but taste was overall okay. Portion sizes was appropriate. My wife got their special of eggplants parm in which it was kinda dry in terms of lack of sauce. Meanwhile, my lasagna was drowning in sauce. The lasagna had poor taste. It’s very heavy on Italian blend of seasonings too. Overall, Dats Italian lasagna tops this version. After dinner, was hopeful for some good Italian desserts. No, they only offer a cheeecake and cake that isn’t even made in house.

We did not complain because we did accidentally walk in what they try to present as a finer dinning restaurant with two toddlers. I did not wanna complain then be looked at as a family who ate some of the food then looking for a discount. So we just ate our few bites, boxed it and left a $15 tip. I personally will not dine here again because it was not worth the $70 ticket; tbh idk what all the hype is.

This place has a classic old time, family feel to it. Very sketchy part of town. Staff is very friendly. Ingredients were high quality. I felt the lasagna was a little soupy. The ravioli noodles are exquisite…however, not a fan of the meat combination of Turkey, beef, and pork inside the ravioli. Generous amount of bleu cheese crumbles on the salad. Kids pizza crust a little soft for tavern style pizza.

I have struggle to find what I consider a truly great restaurant in Colorado Springs…
I need not look any further!
Luigi’s is the best restaurant I have experienced in the springs.
Jackie, my server, was fantastic.
All the food is homemade including the meatballs and sausage.
The atmosphere was what a true Italian restaurant should be, including the music which was not dominating.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
I read some comments about how spicy the sauce is, it does have a little spice which a good homemade sauce should have.

I can’t believe this place is this highly rated, it was awful. I went here for my birthday and it was terrible. The garlic cheese sauce tasted like flour and pepper and had no other taste whatsoever. ( no garlic, no cheese, no onion, etc) There’s no way it had any cheese in it, which is appalling considering cheese is in the name. The spaghetti with meat sauce was boring and very dry. There’s no way any of the pasta was homemade. One person in our party waited 90 min for his pizza, everyone else had already finished and it tasted like frozen pizza crust. My husband was sick from his chicken Parmesan and spent the entire next day in the bathroom. The waitress did her best but this food was awful. Hospitals have better food. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Went to Luigi’s for dinner on a Saturday night (had reservations) and it was packed! Obviously a local favorite and we enjoyed it too. The Italian Wedding soup was awesome, along with the cheesy garlic bread! Even the included bread was yummy. The manicotti with Italian sausage was delicious and the sausage was definitely homemade. Service took a while to greet us at the table, 20 minutes, but after that they took care of us diligently. Recommend you give yourself at least 1.5 hours for dinner, and longer if you want dessert. We will try dessert next time. Absolutely make reservations, otherwise you may wait a long time as the seating is limited. If you like authentic Italian meals, this is your place to visit. Enjoy!

It was absolutely delicious. Portions were perfect-had leftovers. It was our first time here, even though we’re natives and we will be back. Service was great. When we got the check I was shocked with how affordable it was.

1st, best to make a reservation. Waitress was fun, the food was not, no party in my mouth with any of the food. I enjoyed the bread and butter. The salad was sad in a small bowl. 1 mushroom, 2 rings red onions, 2 pieces of celery and 2 pieces of small ton of blue cheese on top of a soaked salad. My manicotti, oh no was like just creamy mixture of sauces, the noodles to soft along w everything in it was no texture what so ever. The little 8$ was ok. My first and last time to visit sad to say. I was hot and stuffy. Be aware going to the bathroom floor slants downward.

I’ve lived here for decades, but this was my first time to go to Luigi’s. My loss for waiting so long. The food, waitresses and atmosphere were great. A bit pricey, but worth it. Reservations are a must. Large portions mean some to take home.
