Quiet little place in the heart of downtown Mattoon. Plenty to choose from on the menu. I had the pasta primavera with extra grilled veggies. Exceeded my expectations. There were at least 8 different types of vegetables in the entree and the sauce was outstanding. Traveling through here every 6 weeks, I’ll be sure to save my Italian craving for when I’m in town.

The lunch portions and lower prices are fantastic. Delicious food is brought to the table piping hot. Rolls are excellent. Nice sized side salad. Good service. Great experience overall. Nice mood music to fit an Italian restaurant.

Our Grammy brought us here for a family dinner, and it lived up to the hype. We started with a warm basket of generously sized bread rolls—such a comforting touch. Our waitress took our drink orders shortly after we were seated, and the service stayed attentive throughout the meal.
The menu was packed with tempting options, which made it tough to choose, but I finally settled on the lasagna—and it was delicious. My girls ordered a small pepperoni pizza and the chicken tenders with French fries, both of which they loved.
Wine lovers will appreciate the extensive list of selections available. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and I was especially impressed by how clean the restrooms were.

Nice to eat at local non-chain restaurants sometimes. You’ll definitely love their bread, super delicious! Salad is good too, and same for chicken parmigiana. Chicken and spaghetti go so well together. If you’re interested in getting an appetizer, calamari is a great choice. Prices weren’t too bad.

Luigi’s is a solid spot for some tasty Italian cuisine. The food is always delicious with near perfect flavor. The portion sizes are fantastic and I always bring home leftovers.
The bread you get when you are seated is absolutely fantastic. It’s soft and buttery. I just wish it came with some sort of dipping sauce, like a house marinara or some oil, but you can always ask for a side yourself. (The oil will cost you, but the marinara they gave for free)
I love how diverse the menu is and there is something for everyone!
Everything we ordered was fantastic, except for the calamari. If you’re an avid fan of calamari you’ll be sorely disappointed.

While traveling we found this restaurant and decided to check it out.
The building is deceptively large! When you first walk in it looks like there’s not a lot of seating, but as you move farther in use, noticed that there’s a whole other room of tables to be used. The bathrooms were nice and clean.
I was very surprised at the speed of our service! We were seated, and our food was on our table in less than 20 minutes!
As most restaurants, do they started us off with bread and butter, the bread was so warm that the butter melted right into it, and the rolls were not small. They were large! I had noticed on their website that the house salad dressing had gotten some great reviews so I ordered it. It was a tomato-based dressing which was unusual. I enjoyed it although my husband did not.
Our starter was delicious, and the main entrée was as well. Overall, I was very pleased with the restaurant as a great place for Italian comfort food. I would definitely recommend it! I was very pleased with the service!

Fried calamari, baked ziti, chicken alfredo. Calamari was without any flavor. I added pepperoni to the ziti which helped, the sauce was just off or weird to me but the cheese was tasty. Alfredo was neither here or there. Service was okay, but we were 1 of 2 tables. Exclusively Frank Sinatra playing, started to repeat and was not here maybe 45 min.

This is a place to take the kids, benches are not upholstered, and there’s no bar. Unfortunately, when I saw “fine food,” I had slightly higher expectations. The house salad is large chunks of iceberg, 1 tomato slice, a slab of cucumber with a couple croutons, the blue cheese dressing is excellent. Veal parmigiana had a nice crisp on the Veal and a pleasant red sauce that was not too acidic or sweet. Veal piccata had nice flavor but, the sauce lacked body and didn’t cling well to the pasta. The mens room is cleaner than a gas station, just don’t look too closely.
Our very young server was polite enough for where she is, an ambassador she’s not, however.
