Food was great. Mom said her BLT was delicious. My chicken broccoli fettuccine was delicious. The Caesar salad was okay the tortilla soup was okay. Service was amazing and atmosphere was nice and calm. The music was pretty good from the early 50s. It was nice to go back in time a little and listen to the music from my grandma’s time. My mom kept saying that she would hear these songs that my grandmother would play in the house. It was great. Nice experience.

Really busy when we went so service wasn’t that great. Only had 1 waiter. My steak sandwich was no where near medium rare but tasted good. Could have been more tender. Other diners’ pasta dishes looked good.

After fishing all morning we headed straight to Lucy’s Cafe to pick up old Clairport Bildgewater the ex roustabout for the Ringling Bros Circus…and of course lunch. I’ve been to this restaurant several times; this is the first time for breakfast. The food is no better than one would get at Denny’s. Overpriced. There is always only one waiter/waitress who is always hurried and harried. $20.00 for pancakes??

I wanted to love this place. We drove almost an hour and a half to get to the delta and *this* was the place my pops wanted to go.
We were literally the only people in the restaurant so the service should have been good. It was efficient*at best*. The server brought things to the table and nothing more. Didn’t check to see if we had everything we needed (I didn’t), didn’t check to see if our food was okay (mine wasn’t).
Meatball sandwich was dry and the meatballs were overly spicy. Would have asked for some of the sauce my pop was enjoying on his food if the server had come back before it was time to clear the plates.
Ordered a Diet Coke, got a flat generic diet cola from the bar gun and was spoken down to when I said it wasn’t what I ordered.
Maybe I just ordered the things they’re not great at. Maybe service would have been better if it were busier. Neither of these things should be true though.
Pops liked their food, and admitted mine was meh. But they’re the sorta regulars so at least they were satisfied.

They food and hospitality here are great. The raspberry ice tea was perfect. I had the western hamburger and garlic fries while the misses enjoyed a mushroom burger. We also had the coconut shrimp. The sauce that accompanied it was amazing. I suggest add a couple drops of Tabasco sauce. You won’t be disappointed.

Italian – you expect it to be good…and this place is. The sandwiches that my wife and I ordered were great. Almost too much food for lunch. A short walk to the river afterwards was a nice bonus. Choose Lucy’s when in Rio Vista. Their bar looks interesting too. No frills paisano watering hole.
