Fantastic burger and fries! Good grade of beef, and the single patty was plenty. Look at the size of it! The fries were thick cut, nicely seasoned, and piping hot. Really great lunch.

The food is tasty. The service is decent the counter staff was friendly. this place is not fast food but you can dine in so with that territory i feel comes a level of minor waitstaff which this place lacks. you order your food at the counter pick up at the counter if you need condiments its behind the counter as well as tableware. these items are bare minimum table top necessities not even napkin dispensers are on the table which. Once you have your food in hand you’re on your own. I dined in on a Saturday afternoon. As far as the food i had crazy burger patty melt and wing combo. all very good the crazy burger is not constructed well for its size these 2 huge patties are very good although saturated in grease that soaks the bun along with the vegetables on the burger excreting moisture this js just bad construct im sure it can be corrected. patty melt no complaints very good wings are not completely sauce but good and tasty nothing special.

JLB never disappoints! I have been visiting Joy Love Burgers for years and it’s quality has only become better. The burgers are huge and the meat tastes fresh every single time. Definitely one of the top burgers in Houston. PS if you want a normal sized burger, get the kids burger as the regular one is big enough for two people.

JLB Eatery on Gessner is a Houston gem for serious comfort food cravings. If you’re looking for big flavors and hearty portions, this is your spot.

The Cajun wings are a must-try. They’re crispy, perfectly seasoned with that signature Cajun kick, and a great way to start your meal (or make a meal out of them if you’re a wing aficionado!). The flavor is spot on, with a good balance of spice that’s not overwhelming but definitely present.

But the real showstopper for me was the Bacon Patty Melt with an egg on it. This is not your average patty melt. The beef patty is juicy and well-cooked, the crispy bacon adds that irresistible smoky saltiness, and the grilled onions bring a lovely sweetness. But adding the fried egg elevates it to another level of deliciousness, creating a rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying bite with every mouthful. The homemade bread they use is perfectly toasted, providing a sturdy and flavorful base for all those amazing ingredients. It’s a truly indulgent and perfectly executed sandwich that’s worth every bite.

Overall, JLB Eatery delivers on its promise of delicious, substantial food. The atmosphere is casual, and the focus is clearly on quality ingredients and satisfying dishes. If you’re in the area and hungry for some seriously good eats, especially those Cajun wings and that phenomenal Bacon Patty Melt, JLB Eatery on Gessner is highly recommended.

There has been a little known battle being waged over in the little Korea area in Spring Branch for a while. The battle of the Burger.

If you know then you know… this area of Houston is where you go to get good sandwiches and hamburgers.

This restaurant named JLB might have just won the battle.

What a hamburger!!!

Wow!

Huge! Juicy! Flavorful! PERFECT.

Thought the food was very good. Made fresh for sure. I got the patty melt and wife got the steak melt. We should have gotten one and just shared. The sandwiches/burgers were pretty big. Fries are good.

Bright the it’s too. I will say the chicken nuggets aren’t anything special, but I guess no nuggets are.

Prices are a little steep. Spent around $80 for 5 people (but maybe that’s average now?!)

Stopped by twice to try their food. First time was to try their home made half pound burger and bun, and second time to try the corn batter fish and shrimps.

I must say the place looked like a hole in the wall but the atmosphere inside is clean and refreshing. The menu is right up front and the food and service was amazing!

The burger was very filling. Could not eat the fries and had to take them to go. The fish was crunchy on the outside and moist inside. Enjoyed every bite!!

Definitely need to try their other menu options in the future.

Our go to now.
My husband has tried another JLB location, and we’ve seen this location on Gessner so many times, but we kept putting it off, for no apparent reason.

We came on a Saturday evening for early dinner. Walking in, there were people all around waiting for their orders or eating. Showed us a good sign and we were hopeful. We went to the front and an employee came from the kitchen and asked if we were ready, since it was our first time, we told her we’d need a minute. She let us know to ring the bell when we were ready, so no rush on either ends.
We ordered the kid’s meal chicken tenders, the hamburger meal & pork chop sandwich meal.
Let me tell you, the portions were HUGE! My husband and I shared the pork chop sandwich and my mother in law shared her burger. 3 adults ate from the burger & pork chop sandwich and we couldn’t even finish the burger!
The burger was well done, seasoned well & juicy. The pork chop sandwich was thin, juicy & seasoned well. The pork chop was small for the sandwich itself, but it was just perfect for us.
Now, the chicken tenders were massive. It was like they gave us a whole chicken breast.
And for to go for my husband’s grandpa, we ordered the fish & shrimp meal. Well, once again we were still surprised at how big that portion was too. 2 large pieces of fish, 6 huge shrimps, fries & onion rings with a hushpuppy & toast. We said that alone was enough to feed 2 people.

So if you want a huge homemade burger, JLB is one you’re not going to want skip.
