Reviews
The first thing that stood out was the burgers. They were cooked really well—juicy, flavorful, and made with quality meat. You could tell care went into preparing them, not just something thrown together. Every bite was satisfying, and it honestly exceeded what I was expecting for a random find.
The fries were another highlight. Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. They weren’t just filler on the side; they were something I’d order on their own. The corn dog was also surprisingly delicious. Simple, but done right, and it added to the overall experience.
The vibe of the place felt casual and welcoming, the kind of spot that makes you want to relax and enjoy your food without rushing. It’s rare for me to walk into a place I’ve never been before and leave feeling like I found a hidden gem, but that’s exactly how it felt.
I can easily see myself coming back here, and next time I’ll be bringing my family along. Great food, good atmosphere, and one of those spots worth remembering.
My discovery of Lucky’s was when I was looking at some of the highest-rated burger places in the Phoenix area on Yelp. From the first visit, I can see why it has an excellent rating. It is among my favorite burger places and a contender for the best burger in Arizona.
On my first visit, I got a triple burger with fries and a milkshake. The milkshake contained butterscotch and Oreos. Butterscotch and Oreos are a combination that often gets overlooked. It is an impressive combination.
The burger and fries are among the best I have ever had. I like how much spice that is placed on the fries. Just the right amount and not overbearing. The burgers are a little on the thin side, but they are delicious and juicy. I also appreciate that they offer a variety of sauces to accompany the burgers. The house-made Thousand Island sauce is delicious, and it tastes much better than the kind you find in stores.
I also like the old-school atmosphere. With many pictures along the walls, it feels like you are in a classic diner, taking a trip back in time.
While the food and atmosphere are excellent, the best part is the service. The owner, Marvin, is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Every time I have walked in, he has greeted me with a warm smile, asking how my day was going, and has been patient with me whenever I needed some time to figure out what I would like to have that day. You can tell that he cares about everyone in his business having a great experience.
For such great food, the prices are very reasonable.
Although I do not visit the area very often, I always stop by Lucky’s Burgers and Shakes whenever I am in the area and recommend it to anyone seeking a great burger place in Phoenix.
Only drawback is there is no public restroom
Boys got cheeseburgers quarter pound and half. I got fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks.
They’ve been here since 2013, the owner was working, he was very professional and friendly. He cleaned up immediately after people left, keeps a tight clean ship. I know it’s burgers & shakes, but I was in the mood for a regular hot dog, it was delicious. The fries are really good too – my meal was $11.55 total. The shake was separate, it was in the $5-$7 range (with a $1 tip included). Free refills, looked like Pepsi products – so Pepsi/Mountain Dew and others.
Couple things to note-
– There is no bathroom.
– Hard seats, not padded.
One suggestion-
– The milkshake/malt shake straw could be a wider diameter, it’s not wide enough to easily drink through. Ditch the normal straws and go for a slightly larger one and everyone will be happier.
Start your dining adventure with a refreshing glass of their freshly squeezed lemonade. It’s made right before your eyes using an old-fashioned press, ensuring a vibrant and tangy taste. For starters, the crispy corn dogs are a must-try, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.
When it comes to the main event, their signature 1/3 lb cheeseburger with bacon and all the fixings is a crowd-pleaser. The juicy patty is sandwiched between a slightly sweet bun, creating a harmonious flavor combination. Don’t miss out on the chili cheese fries, a generous portion that’s perfect for sharing.
And while we didn’t indulge in their delectable shakes this time, they definitely deserve a mention for future visits. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Lucky’s Burgers and Shakes is a gem that deserves a spot on your culinary map.
