For our anniversary my husband likes to take me to a nicer restaurant in town and Lucky was the place to go to! He got reservations ahead of time and we got placed at a nice window seat, very comfortable and superb service with our waitress explaining any questions we had. We started with the fries appetizer and I wanted to eat the entire thing but had to make sure I had room for the actual entree I ordered the seasonal fish and risotto while my husband ordered the fried chicken. The flavors are impressive and hearty and the cheesecake with peaches for dessert nearly had me bursting. Will definitely add this to my list of recommendations in Roanoke

This is not the 1st time I have been there. We have been eating at Lucky’s for years. Yesterday we went to have a business meeting. I was very disappointed with food. The sea food options were non-existent. Shrimp and grits. That’s it. No trout, no oysters. I ordered potatoes and they were so salty that it was the only flavor I could taste. A friend had fired chicken and greens and she didn’t like it either. I am very sad because I love the atmosphere there and drinks are good. The food is no longer worth the money and calories.

Had an amazing experience for restaurant week last night! Starting with our spectacular server Emily, she was very sweet, welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. All of her recommendations were 10/10. The food was so flavourful and beautifully presented. The serving size was perfect and dessert was delicious. The drinks were expertly crafted and equally delicious. Would highly recommend and will be back!

Overall, it’s a lovely upper end place! My favorites here are all drinks. Do not skip out on the fresh takes on traditional cocktails! We spent $100 on drinks last we were here !
The appetizers we had left room to be desired flavor wise, but the entrees surely made up for it! I recommend the trout because the glaze is PERFECT! That plus a Miso Honey drink and no day is left horrible after that! Wonderful atmosphere with tasteful aesthetic and art.

The delicious butter saves this dish because otherwise, I just wouldn’t eat it! Consistency is perfect with the bread it falls apart!

The dish would’ve been perfect if the octopus meat itself had more flavor! Really fun spicy kick with a lovely presentation, tho! Octopus meat was cooked well, not chewy.

I have made “Lucky” a priority to visit every time I’m in Roanoke. The cocktails are amazing, and they make my very favorite drink of all time named ‘date nite drama’ which I wholeheartedly recommend to literally EVERYONE. The service is great, both personable and prompt. The food is also phenomenal. If you are in downtown Roanoke, and are vacillating between where you want to go, THIS is the place!

We ate at Lucky on NYE and had an amazing experience! Their soup of the day was a parsnip bisque and it may be the best soup I’ve ever had. The server recommended their trout entree and it was equally impressive. Cocktails were also a hit. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the service was great. We’re from out of town, but would definitely come back if we’re in the area again.
