Lucky Kitchen has a good variety of authentic Chinese food at reasonable prices. It’s surprising how few truly authentic Chinese restaurants there are in Ann Arbor, given the size of the Asian population. We eat here so often it’s become our go-to spot when we’re nearby.

I had a very disappointing experience at Lucky Kitchen. The server at the cash register was extremely rude and unprofessional. She barely seemed interested in answering any questions about the menu, which left me confused about how my order was being prepared.
I only ordered orange chicken, and it was terrible—bland, soggy, and it didn’t even come with any sauce on the chicken. I have never seen orange chicken served without the sauce already on it. Because of this, I called back to ask about it. The same server answered the phone and rushed me off, insisting that this is how their orange chicken is prepared and that I was supposed to pour the sauce on myself so it “wouldn’t get soggy.”
Unfortunately, after my 15-minute drive home, the chicken was already soggy anyway. The explanation made no sense, and the attitude made the situation even worse. I was so disappointed and unsatisfied that I threw the entire meal away.
I will not be returning and will never recommend this place to anyone.

(Somehow my review keeps gets edited by someone other than me)! This experience remind me of the late 60s. You can’t trust every restaurant intentionally sabotage your food. The owner was in the store when I receive this horrific chili sauce dish. More chili sauce then vegetables. When the service comes from the owner. This must mean take this dish and don’t come back

got the 蒜蓉小龙沙(garlic crawfish meal) the sauce was really good! Sadly, I could tell that these crawfish were frozen and old, we could taste some of them had a weird texture to it and quite fishy. The crawfish itself were also small and had many whiskers in my meal, making it to have less meat than it looked like. I was disappointed, since the price was also not the cheapest for what I got.
I would come back again if there was a fresher batch of crawfish next time!

Excellent! I ordered the General Tso’s chicken extra spicy. They burnt my face off! It was great. I got the dinner combo with crab wonton. Big portions and the combo came with fried rice and a spring roll. I spent $15 and it was worth it. Can’t wait to go back!

Best Asian food we’ve found in Ann Arbor! Highly recommend the orange chicken and sesame chicken. Our three normally picky eaters loved it!

I’m a pescatarian. I take very good care to read the menu and the ingredients. Hot and sour soup had chicken in it. I’ve never seen that. It was loaded with chicken -the only choice I had was spice level and yet they threw in chicken. The wonton? Overcooked and filled with pork. The wontons I am used to are filled with crab and cheese. Were the ingredients listed? Again, no. Additionally the wontons were overcooked. Even the fortune cookie was stale. I called and asked her to please replace the order with vegetarian food and she refused. She said, you didn’t tell me you were a vegetarian- I said, I eat fish, that’s why I ordered the crab wonton. But it was pork. She said wontons are always pork. I said how would I know that? You have to include the ingredients on your menu. And I ordered through Instacart, I didn’t tell you anything. I didn’t get any lunch and I am not a rich person so I’ll be having cheese and crackers for dinner.

You can see the whole kitchen, its spotless. The quality is high, staff have always been nice and efficient with getting orders out. This is a solid and consistent choice if you’re in the area. Very small place, ultra clean with great food.

We were in the Ann Arbor area, and Lucky Kitchen was open. The menu was clearly posted, and we picked up lunch as a carry out. They were friendly and helpful with any questions, and really fast in preparing our meals. We then drove nearly an hour back home, surprised to find that everything was still hot and fresh as when we picked it up. The food was incredibly fresh. The rice was well made. The wonton soup was delightful. We may have found a new favorite place.

Employees eating behind counter while packing people’s food and in the kitchen while preparing food. Totally against health department and serve safe standards!! Good way to get people such and spread germs!! Neither one of these employees wash their hands before handling customer’s food afterwards
