Service was great. Food was very good, reminded me of the same dinner I actually had in Germany many times. I thought it was a bit pricey though and I didn’t expect to pay more than ten dollars for a beer. $40.00 with tip.

Feel lucky to have found this charming German restaurant while visiting in Bradenton Fl. Tucked away in a strip mall you might overlook it but don’t as it was well worth seeking out! There were 5 of us adults and we all very much enjoyed our food, so like our mother’s flavors would have been, true German !! The service was exceptional as well. We meet the new owner who is being tutored by a true German chef. Everyone in the place was very nice, we highly recommend!!

It’s a small place, the food was great, very similar to what is served in Europe. Service is good but since it’s a small place they only had one server/hostess/busser so be patient. The atmosphere is spartan, tables and chairs with minimal art on the walls. There isn’t much wall for decoration.

The restaurant is under new management and is a very good place to eat. Marie is the new owner and is very pleasant and professional. My meal was the Hunters Shot( aka Jagar Schnitzel)My husband had the Lion Special (aka frankfurter and nuerberger). The German beer selection is outstanding. A great place for lunch and dinner. Great restaurant atmosphere.

I recently moved to Bradenton, and I’m trying all the local restaurants. I came across this German restaurant and decided to check it out. The place has a casual neighborhood vibe and our server was super friendly. I decided to try the special, which was beef strips with potatoes and mushrooms. The beef was super tender and delicious, but my only complaint is that there wasn’t enough beef and heavy on the potatoes. My partner ordered chicken with German noodles and she was very happy with her meal. We shared a dessert, the black forest tower, which was tasty. They also have a good variety of German beer. Give them a try, especially if you like German food.

I had a great experience visiting the Lucky Frog for the first time.

The food was very authentic German/Bavarian.

I went for lunch with my family. I had the Jägerschuss (Hunter’s Shot), while my family had the potato pancakes, and the bread pork schnitzel with German potato salad. Plus a freshly baked pretzel.

In my opinion it was a little on the pricey side, especially for lunch, but it was well worth it for the authenticity of the food.

I will definitely be back.

Delicious food! Came here because the Schnitzelhaus on AMI closed. When one door closes, another one opens and Lucky Frog did not disappoint. The pork sampler was a delicious platter of food and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. The potato pancakes were a delicious appetizer as well. Also some great beer! I got a few desserts as well and I think the crepes were my favorite. I can’t’t wait to come back the next time I’m in town!

It’s a fun hobby doing these reviews, especially the food ones. Every now and then you come across a situation where you set a mental standard based on other reviews and the general overall look of the establishment from the internet, and then get your perceptions completely blown away.

Based on previous reviews and the overall look of things from the internet, I didn’t set a super high bar for the Lucky Frog. It looked sort of authentic, but many places over hype the “authentic” and it’s really just someones interpretation, right?

Today on all counts, this was an “authentic” dining experience. One that actually gave me goosebumps and even got a little emotional once.

Being of German heritage and having been stationed in Germany 1984-1987 in the United States Air Force, obviously, German cuisine is a big deal to me.

The service is personable and friendly. The place is small but roomy. Plenty of brews to choose from. I went with a Paulaner Oktoberfest Draft.

The food is authentic and spot on. I had a pork platter that had roast pork, schnitzel, and a wurst. She had a Hunters Schnitzel (Jaeger style of course). Then we had the Kaiserschmarm for dessert.

Plates were 100% clean when we were done. I was one brain cell away from licking plates here folks.

The emotional part came when the owner, named Simone came out to ask us how our meal was. In German restaurants, I try to remember a bit of the German language and gave my greetings and compliments in native tongue. The brief exchange between us in German brought back so many fond memories of me living in Germany.

Yes, this was an “experience”. And we look forward to coming back often to enjoy those experiences over and over.

Danke Schoen!!!
