This place had gotten much better but now, it was just bad. The wonton soup has a brown broth, and it tastes like just a whole lot of soy sauce. Way too salty and I couldn’t eat it. The shrimp fried rice was fair, nothing special. The egg rolls were pretty good but it’s not worth my going out of my way to go here. I’m disappointed.

A glowing establishment deserves a glowing review!! The Lucky Fortune has done it again. Flavor is the name of their game. If you find yourself hungry in the Damariscotta area, please be sure to give the Lucky Fortune an opportunity to make your meal because you will not be disappointed. I personally recommend all of their lo-mein, teriyaki sticks, chicken fingers, and they make the best orange chicken in the state. Thanks again, Lucky Fortune! You rock!

Lucky Fortune is a casual Chinese Restaurant that within its unassuming atmosphere you will stumble across a place that can rival the quality of a high end restaurant. Of course all of your Chinese American comfort foods are available, but I urge you to step out of your comfort and ask about their authentic Chinese dishes. I’ve been here several times, but today I was feeling a bit depressed and I was looking for something a bit lighter for comfort on a dreary rainy day.
I started off with an amazing pork bun, which I highly recommend, soft bread bun stuffed with rich pork in a brown sauce. Next I had their authentic bok Choi, which comes in a beautiful garlic sauce, cooked to perfection. For my main dishes I ordered the Szechuan Beef combo meal with Fried Rice and Chicken Fingers. Normally I am not huge into Chicken Fingers, often the breading tends to be too thick, but today they seemed to hit just right, especially when dipped in the sauce from the Bok Choi or the Szechuan Beef. The fried rice was a pretty standard pork fried rice, one of my favourite comfort foods, and a nice balance between sticky and too dry, too much of either of those ruins fried rice. Of course the focal point of the dish is the Szechuan Beef, which has that beautiful tingling spice that makes this dish do amazing. The beef was soft and tender, and I love that their version of this classic dish includes vegetables, which was something I was craving today. Then to compliment such a great dish I had it with a hot tea.
This was a perfect meal for a cloudy rainy May day in Maine, and it gave me a bit of comfort, like a big edible hug, which I needed so badly today. Then to add on to the comfort of the meal is an amazing staff, creating an environment that is welcoming and feels like having dinner with friends. I highly recommend this amazing place, bring friends and ask about doing a traditional family style Chinese dinner, or ask them about authentic dishes that they have as specials.

Lucky Fortune is such a great spot in Damariscotta! They’ve got tons of vegan options, including chicken, beef, and seafood replacements, which is such a win, plus the standard tofu. Service is always friendly, food comes out quickly, portions are generous, and prices are fair. The General Tso’s sauce is a little too sweet and not quite spicy enough for me, but the sesame sauce is perfect. Definitely a go-to for an easy, tasty meal whether you’re vegan or not!

I’m a local and I come here all the time, it’s such a great experience. The food is amazing with great flavors, all made from fresh ingredients, the restaurant staff are so nice and personable, and the atmosphere is clean. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a fresh place to dine in with great flavor. I give it five stars.

After reading the mixed reviews I decided I should try this place out. Lady was nice on the phone when I ordered and there was a good portion size. The price is pretty much unbeatable in this area. I didnt have any expectations, and I dont think anyone should when getting chinese take out. I got the chicken and broccoli and was a little disappointed by the thickness of the sauce and the lack of flavor. However, everything was cooked perfectly and it somewhat resembled what I had hope the dish would be. It definitely satisfied my cravings for chinese take out!

Guys, who can relate! Lucky Fortune is simply my go – to Chinese restaurant! As soon as I stepped in, the strong Chinese – style atmosphere made me feel extremely at home. Every dish I ordered was absolutely delicious. Take their steamed buns as an example. One bite, and the filling is fragrant and savory, while the bun skin is soft and glutinous. The service is also super attentive. The staff are warm and thoughtful, and they actively introduce the specialty dishes. The prices are quite reasonable, offering great value for money! I’ll definitely be back often!

Wonderful place that is a perfect combination of authentic Chinese cuisine and local tastes. The portions are huge, really, family size. The owners are very nice, intelligent and thoughtful. I asked for a dish that was not on the menu and they were kind enough to make it. We’ve been in China before, and the taste brought us back. Will definitely come back next time we’re in Maine!

I rarely write reviews, but this Chicken Broccoli is an absolute game – changer! The moment the dish arrived, the amazing smell filled the room. The chicken pieces are big, tender, and full of flavor, like they’ve been marinated to perfection. The broccoli is bright green, which shows it’s super fresh, and has a great crunch. Together, they create a harmony of tastes and textures. Whether it’s for a quick lunch or a hearty dinner, this Chicken Broccoli hits the spot. I’ll be back for more, no doubt!

Lucky Fortune’s recent ownership change has transformed this restaurant’s food quality to a level that is close to what one might find in upscale big-city Chinese restaurants. That said, this small establishment is surprisingly affordable. The food is amazing and, in particular, Lucky Fortune’s wonton soup is by far the best we’ve ever had. It’s a must-have.
