I was disappointed. We ate here a year or so ago and considered it our favorite “nice” restaurant so went tonight to celebrate a special occasion. Our server was lovely but seemed to be covering too many tables for frequent enough visits. My Winter Greens & Apple Salad was beautiful and delicious-no complaints! Our mains were the problem: they were both distressingly cold and I’m not even a stickler for hot food. I’d been looking forward to a steak and the flavor was good but it was barely lukewarm. The roasted turnips that came with it were undercooked so I had trouble cutting them even with a steak knife. The scalloped potato like accompaniment might have been good hot but was just a congealed lump cold. We also had not been brought sharp knives until after the plates were delivered so we had to wait to cut into the meat. The same was true for my coffee: I was brought cream and sugar but no way to stir it together. The restaurant is beautiful—I hope they tighten things up to be worthy of it!

Today for the first time my husband and I went to dinner at Lucia restaurant. Since we arrived our Hostess was very attentive, he welcomed us with a big smile. They allowed us to choose the best table. Our waiter Luis was very attentive. The food was too delicious, the busser was also very attentive. Holly was very attentive to us. Luis our waiter was always attentive to ensure that we were enjoying the food and the place. Sidney brought the food with a big smile.
This was one of the best experiences my husband and I had at a dinner where we celebrated his birthday!
This place is very cozy, beautiful, elegant, we loved it!

Amazing place. Service is top notch, food is super delicious on the level of Michelin star, cozy atmosphere and great vibe of Carmel valley. somewhat pricey but in my opinion worth it.
We got ahi tuna for appetiser, salmon, butternut squash ravioli for main dishes and both were amazing. For desert we got fig cheesecake with pistachios and it was mind blowing. Nice wine selection and some draft beers. very special place!

We had a reservation at 5:15pm and were really looking forward to dinner, but unfortunately the evening fell flat. It took nearly an hour and a half for our entrées to arrive, which completely threw off the night. My wife started with the carpaccio and burrata — both were good — but the main courses were another story.
We ordered the lamb and the steak, both around $70 each. The portions were surprisingly small; my plate had just two lamb cutlets, and everything was heavily oversalted — and that’s coming from someone who usually loves salt.
We had planned to enjoy dessert, but by the time our mains arrived, it was too late. We had our daughter with us and needed to head home for her bedtime, which meant missing that part of the meal altogether.
Our server was friendly and clearly doing their best, but the kitchen was in chaos. For the price and reputation, the experience just didn’t come close to expectations.

Phenomenal place. Just shy of a Michelin star in my opinion. Ingredients are fresh and stay truthful to their flavors. Nothing is pretentious. It is just good food presented in an upscale, classy manner. The food is a bit subdued for the atmosphere but perhaps that’s what the chef is going for. I couldn’t ask for a better dinner with friends and family. Will return just for Lucia.

I came here for a last minute dinner and was delightfully surprised by the prompt service. The food is delicious, and the king salmon is ah-mazing! It’s well suaved with a crispy cover. The steak is surprisingly tender too. One bummer is the bread – I wish the bread is softer. Overall, I enjoyed the meal a ton and came back for lunch the next day (again). The salmon didn’t disappoint!

We were looking for a place to eat and a local recommended this place. We were staying a the lodge and we generally don’t eat at our hotel restaurant. This restaurant is a definite exception. My short rib dinner dish was as good as it gets. Here is something I’ve never said. My huevos rancheros breakfast was my favorite meal of the trip.

Pretty good experience. Although no tasting menu was available. Food was pretty good. Servers, etc. were friendly. We used to dine hear when “Cal” was the executive chef. Food was much more elevated then. Very nice place, just a different experience from our previous ones.
