Such a cozy little Sicilian deli! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere felt so welcoming. The puttanesca pasta special was incredible, so full of flavor and perfectly cooked. I wouldn’t recommend the eggplant rollatini as a main. Although delicious, the portion was quite small. Overall, a lovely experience and I will definitely be coming back!

Luca Deli is hands down the most authentic Italian spot in Arroyo Grande. I had the Italian beef (a Monday special), and it was absolutely incredible. The beef was tender and flavorful, the bread was out of this world, and dipping it into the rich au jus took it over the top. Honestly, it’s the best thing I’ve tasted in years. The atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a true Italian neighborhood café, cozy yet vibrant. After talking with the owner, I learned that many of the ingredients come straight from Italy, which explains the authentic flavors. This place has an amazing vibe, and it’s the only spot in town that truly delivers real Italian food. A must-visit!

I had a very fresh and refreshing Antipasto Salad. Others in the group had very tasty looking sandwiches, fresh bread filled thick with the fixin’s. This new to me Deli is in Old Town. We visited at probably the busiest time of the day (noon) on a Friday so it was busy with several large groups. Small outdoor seating area with six round tops. Indoor seating limited – several tables and counter chairs. Staff was kept busy taking the orders, fixing the dishes, and sending out the drinks and food.

Treat yourself to the quintessential Italian deli experience in the village of Arroyo Grande. This compact restaurant has excellent natural light and offers comfortable seating both inside and out. I agreed to try the beef and peppers on a roll with au jus as suggested by the chef, and I am so glad I did. Everything about it was awesome. I was impressed by how “homemade” it tasted. For dessert I tried the tiramisu. It was hands down the best I have ever had. I feel super good after my first lunch at Luca’s and I sincerely hope you do too.

We’ve been here twice for dinner. The food is super flavorful. I love the size of the portions. I had some of the specials tonight one of which was the eggplant ravioli. Delicious! Tomatoes come from Halcyon Farms. The cannolis are my favorite dessert.

Wow! This was the best meal I’ve had out in quite a while, and definitely best Italian food in the 5-cities. Luca’s is a hidden gem. My sister lived in Italy for many years, and I have had a lot of great Italian food – Jerry’s creations are right up there with the best!
We had an impromptu birthday party for a friend, starting with 4 people and eventually expanding to 18 or 20 – the waitress kept pulling up more tables, and little Luca kept the bread stocked, while we explored the many amazing dishes.
We started with rounds of appetizers – the famous dipping oil and bread, a bruschetta sampler, the eggplant rollups, and an amazing caponata. Everything was delicious, and the mains were even better! As a gluten-free person, I had to forego tasting everyone else’s amazing pastas: pesto, a cauliflower crema, traditional red sauces with Nonna’s meatballs – the dishes just kept coming. I enjoyed a fantastic butternut squash risotto, which Jerry kept GF by forgoing the bread crumb topping. My husband and brother both went for the Porcini mushroom ravioli – giant, creamy round pillows stuffed with a mushroom ricotta blend and served in a decadent sauce. Everyone who took a taste mourned that they hadn’t ordered it, while jealously guarding their own delicious selections. If you like Italian food, get yourself to Luca’s! Breakfast, lunch and dinner options.

I tried a homemade Italian beef sandwich dipped in au jus with sweet peppers and giardiniera, and I have to say—I was seriously impressed. The flavor was bold and rich, with that perfect garlicky kick you expect from a real Italian beef. As someone from Chicago, I’m pretty picky about my beef sandwiches, and it’s hard to beat what we have back home… but this one came right up there. Tender meat, delicious jus, and the sweet peppers and giardiniera added just the right balance of heat and crunch. Truly a standout homemade version of a Chicago classic.

Food was really good. They have been some growing pains to overcome. Better communication with customers and orders set down at the person who ordered it. They have been open for 3-4 months. Should know the small town they opened up in better. This guy named Max photo bomb my picture.

I love this spot. Excited to try all of the menu.
The savory crepe is delicious as well. Ate it before thinking of taking a photo.

Tried this place for the first time and left more than satisfied!!! A small, family-run, casual eatery that did not disappoint! It’s a “deli” so the expectation is not for a full-service restaurant, yet they make a great effort to create a comfortable and fun vibe/ambiance and provide great service. We went during a dinner rush (and with such a small space, it doesn’t take much to create a rush) but they hustled the whole time to keep up! The owner/chef just has one small cook top/ work station. I could not believe how well he was keeping up with the orders considering this. While we did wait a little while, it didn’t feel like it because the young girls serving were incredibly attentive, always checked in to reassure us (even though we didn’t need it) that our food was coming. Our orders did come out staggered but we didn’t mind it because we were sharing and nothing got cold. Plus it inadvertently added to the Italian atmosphere because in Italy, you do eat more in “courses” rather than all at once like we do here in US. The two young girls who were doing the table service blew us away with their work ethic, communication and thoroughness (especially compared to the average service you get from most people these days.) They were so sweet and personable. Without them, I doubt we would have appreciated our experience as much as we did. That being said, the food was wonderful. Some dishes were smaller portions, but that means you can try more! We got the bread with dipping oil, procini ravioli, pesto linguine and pasta al forna, tiramisu and cannoli. We thought everything was either very delivered or at “least” pretty good. We will definitely be back to try more items! We are very happy to have found this fun spot close to home!
