Prices were somewhat reasonable, seemed average compared to other places.
I ordered a breakfast bowl and the Latte special ( pumpkin spice or pumpkin mocha) Either way it was actually very yummy. I really enjoyed it. I also appreciated that dining in, was offered to have beverage served un an actual ceramic mug or to go cup. I chose the mug.
Breakfast bowl was good. Not my favorite, tbh,the eggs were way to ” wet” for my personal taste, and felt like more of the veggies would have been welcomed. Not a true fan!
Definitely will try something else next time.
My friend ordered hot chocolate and a pumpkin muffin. Said both were yummy.
Hot chocolate looked inviting w the whipped cream on top.
Was overall a good experience.
LuAnns also offers several grab and go sweet items too including GF cookes, muffins, scones. And a mini fridge stocked w pre-made cold items, such as soups, juices, cookie bundles..
I’ve been in at least ten times, ordered pickup, and sat down to eat.
I called to order a “vegan wrap” (it’s listed that way on their Stafford website), and they told me that’s not an option, so I suggested they update their website to reflect that. It’s still listed on their website over 6 months later.
Today, I wanted to try a “make your own salad,” to see if there was a reasonable vegan option. I called the store to see what dressings were vegan and they immediately told me that “none of them are.”
My friend called the Ellington location to doublecheck if there were vegan dressings (they have the same dressings), and they pointed out at least two of the ones that are also at the Stafford location are vegan. So, I went ahead and placed an order with the vegan dressing.
Let me tell you, it costs SO MUCH to get a vegan “make your own salad” with the “specialty” toppings (which is basically the only option unless you order a specific salad and have everything removed). Mind you, the cheese and meat were already included in the price of the salad so adding those options are free, so my basic salad with added avocado is more expensive than a salad loaded with cheese and meat.
I’ve been to LuAnne’s in Stafford many times due to the close proximity to my work. I usually get a drink and might grab a vegan sweet (usually 1-2 options). Their vegan treats aren’t anything special (always the same sprinkle cupcake).
The drinks are ok- but you can tell their focus isn’t drinks. I say this because Stafford Coffee used to be at this location and they took drinks seriously. The baristas were more knowledgeable. (I am a former barista.) I used to chalk this up to it being a new location but I’m not sure anymore.
I was a regular at Stafford Coffee before Luanne’s honestly because of how convenient it is for me. They had limited vegan food options, and no vegan desserts, but I still got food at least one time a week. Even when I got sick of that option, I still went because it was so convenient. Now, I wouldn’t go in for a drink because it feels like I’ve been lied to on multiple occasions.
Overall, this location is nice inside if you want a place to sit, and probably good if you have no allergies and like fancy looking desserts. However, if you have any allergies avoid this place!
The food is always excellent. The drinks are well made… Slightly too sweet as they make them regularly so I always ask for half the amount of sweetener/syrup. The sandwiches are delicious. The bagels are perfecto *chefs kiss*… especially the Jalapeno cheddar!
the baked goods are fantastic… the cupcakes are gorgeous and while the frostings are often a little too sweet for my taste, they are just the right size to still be yummy and not put me into a sugar coma the breads, cinnamon rolls, scones, etc are SO GOOD.
Everything I have had from Luann’s has been excellent… the only exception (for me) being the gluten free sweet treats… I am glad they offer the option for those who need it but my food allergy child has taken one bite and not finished any of the several allergy friendly things I’ve bought for him here… and that boy has a sweet tooth, so turning down a donut or cupcake isn’t his normal M.O…. Other people must like the allergy friendly options though because I know they’ve been making and successfully selling them for years at their other locations!
The owners seem very friendly, always eager to take good care of their customers. The staff appears to be treated well and they are always reasonably friendly. I LOVE that they are closed on Sundays… it says a lot about the owners that they are willing to lose a few bucks to make sure that they and their staff have a weekly rest day.
As long as this shop is in town we will patronize it. We don’t have much of a budget for eating out/coffee shops/pastries these days, but the small budget we do have always goes to Luanns. My husband and I take turns bringing each of our children out on a monthly “date” here. It never fails to be an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Finally, I also have to say that I REALLY appreciate that this coffee shop does not wear their political opinions on their sleeve, on the stickers on the wall or the large flag out front the way the previous couple of shops did. I am quite certain that they, like everyone else, have their own private beliefs and political opinions
… but I truly appreciate the intentional lack of extreme left/right divisive symbols and phrases plastered all over the shop.
It certainly makes EVERYONE, feel welcome in a way that the other shops did not… kudos and praises for that!
Thank you Luanns!
Update, I love this place. The food is delicious and the people are amazing that work there. I just left. I got another breakfast fiesta wrap. It was delicious as always, but I had a great conversation with another person there about climbing Mount Rainier. climbing mountains is a passion of mine and to have a great conversation like I just did was heartwarming. I love this place. I have been climbing for over 20 years now every new climber I meet has the same passion that I have and I love it thank you all for being there for us. I love your food and coffee lol
