Tourondel takes diversity seriously which means the team has been intentionally built to reflects Miami’s melting pot. Pretty cool. Creates a warm energy
The popovers are legendary.. hot, fluffy clouds straight from the oven, buttery and addictive. Steaks are sourced from Chicago’s Allen Brothers (the go-to for the best restaurants). They crank up the wood-fired oven up to 900°F to make the pizzas and entrees with that smoky edge
Huge shout out to Brit, our server, who was not only a wizard but put us on for the restaurant 101. To our surprise, the tres leches was really GOOD
Elegant yet relaxed atmosphere
We arrived on time for a birthday dinner reservation & were sat at the back of the restaurant. The hostess from outside signaled to the host inside that she would take us to a table near the front of the restaurant where there were multiple tables available, he abruptly shook his head no & signaled her to the back. There were three tables in this back area, one that was dirty upon our arrival & never cleaned off during our almost 2 hour long visit. She sat us at the middle of the three tables. As you see pictured, we were secluded in the back, far away from the other guests of the restaurant.
We ordered sushi to start with. Our server, Gonzalo, brought our chopsticks out and made a slick comment stating “if you know how to use them” I picked up on this condescending comment & addressed it immediately, he then made it appear as a joke with no ill intent. We ordered the snapper for our main course, which was great. Unfortunately the service outweighed the food. We spoke with the manager prior to leaving & he made a deduction to the bill. This was a nice gesture, but again, the service throughout the night left a terrible lasting impression of this restaurant.
Solid wine list, well-curated with a nice range of price points, refreshing for a more upscale spot. Appetizers: crab cake, beautifully plated, had a citrusy brightness without overpowering the delicate crab (not too crabby), and it has a garden-fresh crunch. It felt like spring on a plate.
I had the Betsy Roll from the sushi selection, simple, clean, and exactly what I was hoping for. Hubby did the filet mignon was cooked perfectly (side must-try the jalapeño mashed potatoes (!!) and for dessert, shared the chocolate barretta..Wow. Think salted caramel, hazelnut “soil,” a touch of sea salt.
As if that wasn’t enough, Ocean Drive’s Festival of Lights was kicking off just outside. Carolers singing, lights twinkling, we joked that we had “back orchestra seats” from our table. A perfect view, a perfect evening.
Highly recommend for a date night, pre-show dinner, or whenever you want to treat yourself to great food in a lovely setting.
Carmen made the experience even better with her amazing service. She was attentive, friendly, and gave fantastic recommendations that did not disappoint. Her knowledge of the menu and warm personality made us feel so welcomed and taken care of.
If you’re looking for a breakfast spot that delivers incredible flavor and top-notch service, this is the place. We will definitely be back!
The server Ricardo is an absolute MVP. He was friendly and gave great service.
This place was packed and I highly suggest reservations.
The food here was DELICIOUS. From the new feta dish on the menu, to the halibut, salad, and most importantly – THE BREAD!
This is genuinely the best bread I have ever had. You will want an extra order because it will be the best thing you eat.
The vibe here is certainly fine dining and fancy, so come prepared to spend $100+ per person.
Really awesome spot and again — if you’re reading this — the bread here is calling.
