Service and vibe was great at this place. The silverware were wrapped simply annd decoratively. Ambiance is great here annd glass ware was great. Unfortunately most of the dishes or main components missed the mark. The Caesar Salad was seriously the star of the show. If you go you need to get it. The rest felt like simple dishes complicated with trying to be “different”. There were great aspects to some of the food but overall I think we all felt like it the dishes were over seasoned/on the salty side. Bison meatloaf was seriously over seasoned almost trying to hide the flavor of the Bison itself but was rescued by the impeccable one of the best we’ve ever had Mac and cheeses. The Cioppino was lacking for $52, broth was good but came with two small shrimp, two small scallops and a very small piece of fish with tiny circular chorizo sliced like pepperoni. It was just lacking compared to any other hearty version of this dish I’ve had. The salmon was good and the sides were again very seasoned and more on the salty side. The short rib was great and probably the only dish that was thoroughly enjoyed in its entirety. The lobster gravy poutine was good, again very over seasoned with not quite cheese curds more of a cheese sauce blotches and shoe string fries so the potatoes portion of the dish was just soggy. It may very well be a preference thing when it comes to the amount of seasoning and flavors combined in these dishes. I love seasoning but also want to enjoy the flavor of what I am eating. The place is very nice and the service was incredible. I just wish things were a little bit simpler and seasoned without so much salt. Would not return for this current menu but would happily return to try something new. 4 stars because everything but the food was amazing.

Had a great meal at LP on Main. The Caesar salad was crisp and balanced, the fries were dangerously good and addicting, and the hanger steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The scallops were beautifully seared and delicious. And the sticky toffee pudding… honestly life changing. Great food, great atmosphere, the service was incredible and professional and a place I’ll definitely be returning to.

Pineapple Planet Wilderness Guide out.

Went here for a birthday dinner and the service was truly incredible. From the moment you walk in until you’re heading back to your car, they take such great care of you and make the whole experience feel special.
The food is amazing. We shared several dishes so we could try a little bit of everything, and every single one was fantastic. And you absolutely cannot leave without dessert!I will be dreaming about the sticky toffee pudding until I get to have it again!

Amazing service!!! We made a reservation weeks in advance. But, canceled last minute because we were staying at the top of beech mountain and I overreacted with anxiety about the drive back up. We ended up just walking in hoping to still get a table. The hostess handled my blunder so graciously! We had a to wait a bit, but it was SO worth it. The yellowfin tuna and ribs were big standouts. Monica’s wine recommendation was on the nose. It’s a bit loud inside, but it won’t take long for the food to down everything else out.

Service was excellent, food was tasty and their drink/wine list is extensive. We made reservations for Saturday night and their small parking lot was full. We found parking on the otherside of the street and walked over.

This is the best restaurant in the High Country. Always such a delightful experience with the most friendly and welcoming owners and staff. The food is always amazing. The shrimp and grits are my the best I have had away from the coast, the crab cake and the sticky toffee pudding are perfect. The atmosphere is so unique with a personal touch on each table. I’d recommend LP to everyone!

Had a lovely experience here celebrating a dear sister. The staff here were all really friendly! Everything we ordered from the starters (fried oysters, crab cakes, octopus, soup) to the entrees (scallops, salmon, beef short ribs), and even the dessert were excellent! They even have a long list of wines to select from.

We would definitely recommend anyone to visit for a delightful meal!

In a word, “underwhelming.” Our primary home is in Asheville where there are a multitude of fantastic restaurants, so maybe our expectations are high. We bought a second home at Beech Mountain a couple of months ago, and we’re trying restaurants in the Beech Mountain/Banner Elk area looking for one that really stands out. We thought LP on Main might be it … but it wasn’t.

On the plus side, they have a nice porch that accommodates dogs. We were seated right on time … and then no one came back to the table for 20 minutes to see if we wanted anything. They gave us food menus, but no drink menus, so when the server finally asked if we wanted drinks we ordered blind rather than risking another long wait.

I had the short rib and my wife had the salmon. Both were good, but if you’re hungry you’ll still be hungry after you eat. My wife asked if we could order some bread … and there’s no bread. We would have had another round of drinks during dinner, but no one asked if we wanted anything from the time our meals arrived until the server cleared the table and asked if we wanted dessert. The highlight was the sticky toffee pudding … quite good.

LP on Main has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, tonight it was underwhelming.

Accommodating and friendly, we enjoyed our meals. I will say that I thought the chicken was way overpriced for one small chicken thigh. And the overall vibe was trying too hard to be upscale to match their prices without really offering upscale food.

This was a wonderful experience. The space is so beautifully decorated, and the food delicious (everything we had was top notch and we would order everything again, particularly wonderful were the steak and pasta and beet salad). It’s also very wheelchair accessible. And the staff made us feel so at home. We will be back!
