When we finally approached, we were met with rudeness and an aggressive tone regarding a “no outside bags” policy. The interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and unwelcoming — especially given that we were there in good faith.
Our purpose was to enjoy a light appetizer and conduct a **site visit for my mother’s upcoming 80th birthday celebration on Saturday, August 8, 2026**. Instead, my mother — who was present — left feeling deeply disappointed by the treatment we received from the manager, who appeared to be the owner, G. Garvin.
As a former restaurant owner myself (OrganiX), I know firsthand that hospitality begins with respect and professionalism. I would never have treated guests the way we were treated today. Ultimately, the interaction made our decision easy — this will not be the venue for our family celebration.
Black-owned businesses deserve support, but that support must be met with punctuality and genuine customer care. We did not deserve the experience we received.
Sincerely,
Je’ Wesley Day & Barbara Quinn (Who also once owned a restaurant says, “supporting black businesses is hard.”)
The menu, crafted by chef G. Garvin, features indulgent dishes like lobster mac and cheese, crispy Brussels sprouts, and perfectly cooked steaks—with several reviewers praising the attention to detail and flavor balance . The ambiance is polished yet inviting, making it ideal for a date night or an elevated night out .
Service consistently steals the show—frequent mentions praise the attentive, friendly staff and smooth dining flow .
On the flip side, a few diners have noted that the food sometimes feels just “okay” for the price, and parking options can be a bit unclear or limited .
Overall: LowCountry Steak brings upscale Southern charm, strong service, and standout flavors. Just be prepared for the price tag and plan your parking ahead.
From the moment we were seated, the service was painfully slow. It took far too long for a server to greet our table, and even longer for our drinks and appetizers to arrive. The restaurant was not overwhelmingly busy, so the delay was difficult to understand.
Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the wait. Our entrées arrived cold — not lukewarm, but noticeably cold — as if they had been sitting out well before being brought to the table. For a restaurant that presents itself as upscale, serving cold food is unacceptable. Sending plates back only extended the already excessive wait time.
What was most disappointing, however, was the lack of professionalism in customer service. There was no sense of urgency, no genuine apology, and no effort to make things right. Staff members seemed indifferent rather than concerned about the experience we were having.
Overall, between the long service time, cold food, and poor customer care, this visit fell far below expectations. I cannot recommend this restaurant based on this experience.
We were the first reservation when the restaurant opened, and the staffed seemed “surprised” there were customers.
For our entire dining experience, there were maybe 4 tables, and the service just seemed, “meh.”
The menu looked good, but they were either “out of it” or it was “no longer offered.” If that was the case, then update the menu.
What we did order was delicious!! Surprisingly, no one ordered steak. We had salmon, Chilean Sea Bass, and pork chops.
We ordered the cornbread, and it was served “cold” but in a skillet.
The ravioli should be a dish by itself!!! Delicious!!!
Overall, it was not a bad experience, but our expectations were a little higher. I would go back but not necessarily go out my way.
