I found this place while working in the area. It’s a little boy of a strange setup because parking is in the back. It’s an older building but cleaned up nicely with simple furnishings.

To owner is super friendly and was quick to give me a sample of his signature Cajun Deboned Chicken. I ordered a 2 Meat Plate with that chicken and brisket along with Potato Salad & BBQ Beans as sides. The meat is definitely the star of the show here but I enjoyed the potato salad as well. The beans weren’t bad but had a unique flavor. The brisket was flavorful and tender and the chicken was delicious.

Prices are about what you expect nowadays with the 2 Meat Plate coming in at just over $15. Portions are generous.

Needless to say, I enjoyed my visit and hope to come back again. It’s really good!

First time eating here, was given a sample of the deboned chicken to try. It was great. Ordered the deboned chicken and sausage plate with BBQ beans and cole slaw. Good size portions of food and all of it was excellent. I live in Lafayette, LA so I’m skeptical of Cajun Food in north LA. This was good, this restaurant would do well in Lafayette.

The great reviews do not lie! We are in town for only a couple days and decided to give this place a try. Our party of 5 had ribs, brisket, Cajun deboned chicken, and crawfish étouffée. It was all so good! All of the sides were great too, but the greens were my favorite. To top it off, the servings and hospitality were generous!

The entrance is in the back where the parking is. Try the Cajun de boned chicken and brisket! A unique taste you won’t find anywhere else! The gentlemen that working were incredibly hospitable and welcoming to an out of state traveler. Two thumbs way up!

Give them a chance. Not like you caught your boyfriend lying chance—a real one.
This place is small but spotless; you can really tell the people here give a damn. Let’s talk food: the ribs were solid and the wings were good, too. My only tiny “but” is that I wish they had been served a bit warmer. I like my BBQ like I like my gossip: piping hot. But that sauce? It was GREAT. Seriously, chef’s kiss.
If you are hungry, this is the place to go to quiet those pains. Just know, this isn’t a “rose petals and romance” first date spot; this is where you take your longtime significant other to really grub and get sauce on your face. They don’t over-serve, so don’t expect a doggy bag—you’ll probably inhale it all before you even think about leftovers.

The food was fantastic! Very attentive and helpful staff.
We had the deboned chicken, sausage, turkey, brisket and ribs for our meats. Potato salad, Mac n cheese, BBQ beans and green beans.

Our favorites were the deboned chicken, brisket and ribs. The potato salad is a must! I recommend this place and I’m happy to come back when I’m in town.

This place is awesome! Highly recommend. Food was delicious, and everyone operating the restaurant was so wonderful, attentive, and friendly. They’ve only been open a couple months, but definitely see them going far! Do yourself a favor and stop by.

Can’t go wrong with any meat, but the Cajun deboned chicken was so good!

My husband and I are visiting Shreveport for the first time for the USPA Power Lifting Masters Cup and found Louisiana Cajun Soul Cafe based on a Google search and their reviews. The 5 Star reviews are spot on! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had Crawfish Étouffée with green beans and cole slaw. My husband had the brisket with potato salad and cole slaw. The food was absolutely phenomenal!

Best Étouffée I have ever had! Loaded with crawfish and just the right amount of spice! I literally licked my plate clean. We will probably be back again before we leave town just to try something else on the menu – or maybe more etouffee.

I usually don’t do reviews but I had to. This was not worth my $26. The baked beans taste like chili beans, the potato salad is to loose and hardly had potatoes in it. The chicken was to dry, the ribs were good and the brisket. The Mac and cheese was dry and had no taste. I did not like the Bbq sauce. I am from Louisiana but down south and it tastes nothing like soul food.
The people were nice and friendly but not everyone can BBQ. Sorry my taste buds did not like this food!

So my husband and I stopped here this morning for lunch. I drove in from Coushatta and my husband drives truck and stopped at a nearby truckstop but wanted to try some place different. Well he searched and the reviews where enticing so we went and OMGOODNESS am I glad he chose this place. Everything about being there was awesome. From the owners to the food and drink. We got the 3 meat plates all the food was seasoned and full of flavor. I will be going back it has become a new favorite for us both. Just need them deep fried dill pickle slices and maybe mushrooms and zucchini too. They are new and slowly adding to the menu while wanting to keep it simple. Love, love this place. I can add photos when my camera is done processing the photo.
