Louie Bossi is not your typical chef. Growing up in an Italian household in New York he remembers the aromas of roasted garlic and fresh meatballs sizzling from his family’s kitchen. Raised by a single mother juggling three jobs, Bossi taught himself to cook at the age of eight. Relocating to Florida in 2000, Bossi landed his first job with Big Time Restaurant Group as grill cook. Exploring different positions within their popular portfolio of restaurants Chef Bossi proved to be one of the hardest working and most inspired chefs in the company, which earned him the coveted Executive Chef position at Big City Tavern. The ambiance is beautiful and the staff is hospitable. Our waiter Valentine was very attentive and professional with a sense of humor that kept us laughing all night.
10/10 experience and I can’t wait to try it again. The food was absolutely delicious and we were surprised to enjoy Martini Mondays, that we had no clue was going on.
Pictured is Calamari fritti, rigatoni bolognese and alla vodka pizza. If I could pick a favorite, I would be lying.
Looking forward to my next visit, I want to enjoy the back patio seating. <3
A huge highlight was our server, Marcelo . He was absolutely wonderful—attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. His recommendations were spot-on, and he really went the extra mile to make us feel taken care of. I’ll definitely be requesting him every time we come back. The two hostesses (I wish I remembered their names!) were also incredibly kind and welcoming.
The food came out surprisingly fast, and everything was perfect. We ordered a four cheese pizza with a side of hot honey, a mushroom and truffle pasta (I can’t remember the name, but it was amazing), and the chicken parmesan, which we absolutely loved. To finish, we had cappuccinos that came with a little almond cookie—honestly out of this world.
We sat on the back patio, which is magically beautiful, and it made the whole experience even more special. I genuinely want to come here every single day. 100% recommend!
We can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much Tony and Louie Bossi for a great time and experience. Most definitely will be back
I was so happy!!
The host was kind and the waitress made my lunch very special and, of course delicious. His suggestions were perfect and paired beautifully with my Aperol Spritz and the warm weather.
The decoration of the venue is gorgeous – make sure to check their “garden” before choose the patio.
Also, always check out their daily specials, my lovely waitress shared details of their weekends’ brunch.
Absolutely will stop there on my next visit to FLL.
Thank you Louie Bossi team ♥️✨
For the main course, the Chicken Parmesan was excellent—tender chicken, rich sauce, and perfectly melted cheese. The Rosso pizza was another standout, with a great crust and bold, delicious flavors.
To top it all off, the Prosecco Pop was a fun and refreshing drink that paired perfectly with the meal.
What truly elevated the experience was our server, Kristine. She was amazing—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Five stars all around and highly recommended!
We had lunch… a generous salad filter by a chicken parm panini: excellent!
Service was efficient and friendly, and the price was affordable for the area.
Highly recommended.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of pasta options, so there’s something for every taste. Highly recommend!
We had vodka sauce pizza with crispy prosciutto, and carbonara spaghetti. Both made for a perfect pizza+pasta night in downtown Fort Lauderdale on Las Olas. Both so tasty and unique in their own ways.
I can easily understand why it is one of the Crown Jewels of Southern Florida
Food was uneven. The seafood pasta arrived hot but salty. The chicken parmesan was barely lukewarm, as was the side of spaghetti, and part of the chicken was actually on the cold side. The pizza was a saga: the one we ordered was “unavailable,” the backup our server suggested was also “unavailable,” and we finally landed on a cheese pizza. Credit where it’s due—the cheese pizza was good.
Prices made the misses sting: $33 for the limp chicken parm, $37 for the salty seafood pasta, and $22 for the fallback pizza. There was some kind of show going on, and I understand that can pull attention in different directions. Still, we paid full price for what felt like a half-strength experience.
Bottom line: frustrating service, inconsistent execution, and premium pricing that was not backed up by the meal we received. Unlikely to return.
