Lou Malnati’s continues to deliver a truly excellent deep-dish product. The signature buttery crust, high-quality sauce, and fantastic sausage patty (if you opt for it) are, as usual, second to none. If you are looking purely for a top-tier Chicago deep-dish experience, the pizza here is perfection.
However, the cost of this perfection has become prohibitive. My spouse and I are enthusiastic foodies and are happy to pay a premium for high-quality, fresh ingredients, but the value proposition here has severely missed the mark.
For our recent carry-out order—consisting of two large, basic deep-dish pizzas (no specialty toppings) and one standard salad—the final bill came out to a shocking $87.00.
While the food was delicious, we cannot justify this price point. We are aware of at least two other truly excellent pizza establishments in the immediate area that offer similar large-format quality (deep-dish or otherwise) for a comparable order at least $20 less.
Lou Malnati’s pizza is fantastic, but we simply cannot recommend it when better value can be found elsewhere without sacrificing ingredient quality or taste. It’s time for us to seek out more reasonably priced local options.

Since we were visiting friends in the Chicago area, we knew we had to have a Chicago-style pizza. Our friends recommended Lou Malnati’s and they were right. We ordered take out and were glad we did. Everything about this pizza was exquisite. From the crust to the cheese to the sauce, this was one delicious deep dish pizza. I enjoyed the taste of the sauce and how crunchy the crust was. The service in the store was excellent. The store itself had a unique decor for a takeout only location.

I have been picking up an awsome pizza at Cary, carry out almost weekly for a few years. Its always ready when I get there. The youg lady cashier always has such an awesome smile when she greets people, you can’t help but be in a good mood yourself. I find it hard to believe she doesn’t ever seem to have a bad day.

What a joke of a pizza you just delivered to my house. We ordered a well done pizza and this thing isn’t even cooked. I told my mom not to order from here, our mistake. Plus they must have dropped the pizza or something, usually with a cheese pizza I like sauce there was no sauce and the topping were dripping over the side. My dog wouldn’t even eat this, we threw it away.

I’ve ordered from this Lou’s a lot, they’re consistently on time, the pizza is always good, always friendly, and today they went above and beyond. I ordered a pizza for pickup and like an idiot put the order in at the wrong location, when I showed up I explained what happened and without being asked they offered to make the same order here for me with no additional charge. Not bad! The butter crust was great! The sauce was a bit runny so I couldn’t give it 5 stars…other than that…amazing pizza and great wings! I had the personal deep dish with butter crust (crispier than regular) and it was delicious!

My absolutely favorite deep dish pizza. Ordered veggie with extra topping. Amazing fresh ingredients. Love them all. Excellent quick service by the staff. I followed the instructions to pop it in the oven. Used stone to crisp up the crust a bit more.
If you sign up to their mobile app and spend $20 or more you get a medium pizza with any topping for free within two weeks and the notice will be on their app. Best offer we ever seen. We also got gift certificates from Costco which was discounted. So it’s a win across the board for their new customers and having them loyal for years to come.

We made a catering order at this location. Everything went somewhat well. I wish they had a dine-in option! I could have voiced my opinions upon service. The customer service was excellent. I was, however, disappointed with both the wings we ordered (very dried out and overcooked?), and the pasta. We felt the penne was also overlooked and very mushy. I ended up making my own penne to seve my guests. Luckily I had ordered the marinera sauce on the side, it was delicious. Also the specialty pizza we ordered was perfect. My memories of Lou Malanatis food was much better. Sadly I will probably not order from there again.

Whenever I come back in town I always need to get my Lou’s deep dish fix. Always amazing. Picture shows after there wasn’t much left. Highly recommended.
