Nice spot for a meal. My waitress was helpful and attentive. A lot of seafood on the menu. Limited for vegetarian options, but they are clearly marked. Clean restroom with hand lotion. So extra salty but it was good anyways.

Lou Lou’s was exactly what we were looking for in Southern cuisine. First, the service was incredibly friendly, and our server’s recommendations were spot-on. And the food
wow. We ordered the blackened redfish, and it was honestly one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had. We also tried the seafood pasta, which could have used a bit more shrimp, but was still delicious. Both the Old Fashioned and the Tom Collins were absolute perfection.
Highly recommend!

Great little unexpected find in Louisville KY! We had the crispy crab cake, shrimp and creamy grits with fried okra, bayou jambalaya and bourbon bread pudding (no pecans ). Service was attentive and very friendly. Plenty of seating on the first floor and second floor.
A definite must when visiting Louisville.

Spent a fun evening at Lou Lou on Market and had some delicious food. As those of you who read my reviews, I am usually pretty solid at making good picks. When a work trip to Louisville had my wife and I looking to test the restaurant scene, this was my first pick. Absolute winner. Lou Lou has several locations with slightly differing menus. The Market St location was oustanding. Great location with cajun theme and relaxed dining. The service was excellent and the local young lady who served us was wonderful. My wife and I started with the crab bisque which was fantastic. A little more chowdery with the loads of crab meat, this is a winner. My wife had the Shrimp and Grits while I had the Blackened Redfish. We shared bites of each. Equally delicious but I must say the Blackened Redfish was AWESOME. We finished our meal with Beignet’s for a deliciois sweet treat. If you are in the area, check out Lou Lou. Yum!

My wife and I went to Lou Lou’s for lunch on Valentine’s Day while in town for a wedding. Everything was delicious…from the hush puppies , wings and grits, to the red beans and rice, cocktails and bread pudding! Even better than the food was our server, Tiffany! She was kind, attentive, and friendly. Definitely check it out when you’re in town!

Great Food! Great atmosphere. Shrimp and grits were my favorite. I loved the pasta, I just wanted it to be seafood heavy. Overall I would eat here again.

We didn’t make reservations and walked in to get on the wait list. The staff made the effort to call us when a table opened up before the allotted wait time we were given. I was appreciative of this. The Cajun twist on some Kentucky recipes was really creative and appealing. The cocktail menu had a nice variety. I ordered the Jambalaya and it was delicious. It was recommended by our server. One of our plates did come out really under par, and that was the creole seafood pasta dish. Our table ordered two, one came as described on the menu while the other had absolutely not shrimp what so ever in the dish. We spoke to our server about this and it was handled immediately. The live band was a nice touch for us as we sat out on the patio. It was a little loud for a nice evening meal but still a great time.

Amazing food, the Salmon was cooked to perfection, and the bread pudding was the perfect ratio of browned butter sauce and bread. Its in a fun old town house, from the moment you walk in to the first bite of food, you can feel the Cajun atmosphere. The server was busy but made sure to check on us frequently. If I ever came back to Louisville I would have to come again.

I love the building that this restaurant is in- the history and style of the “house” that was transformed into a restaurant! The food is always fabulous. I got the pork chop tonight. My bourbon drink was delicious, however the espresso martini was very watered down and light compared to how I usually prefer them. The Chicago style pizza, while it was huge and looked good, my friend said it lacked the authentic Chicago taste. The table was very small and almost uncomfortable for just the two of us after ordering our food.

Food was incredible! Had the blackened mahi which was super flavorful and perfectly cooked. The creole seafood fettuccine was also amazing and came with the most delicious cream sauce. Finally for desert the bread pudding and beneights were an excellent treat on top. Will definitely be back if I’m ever in the area again!
