A Culinary Gem in Fredericksburg – The Traveler’s Collection

If you’re in Fredericksburg, TX, do yourself a favor and make a stop at The Traveler’s Collection. This place is a total vibe — from the eclectic seating and cozy corners to the stunning bar area, the whole atmosphere is warm, inviting, and just downright cool.

Their old-fashioned inspired menu is a treat on its own, but the signature cocktails truly shine. I tried The Second Voyage, made with gin, a strawberry-infused aperitif, Italian Amaro, citrus, and egg white — and wow. It was perfectly balanced, smooth, and incredibly refreshing. They also offer an impressive wine selection that would please any enthusiast.

We opted for tapas, and every dish was an absolute explosion of flavor. The duck confit spring rolls, chicken empanadas, truffle burrata, and seafood aranitas were beautifully plated and made to order with incredibly fresh ingredients. Each bite felt like a new, exciting flavor journey — you can really taste the care that goes into everything they serve.

The Traveler’s Collection isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and friendly service, it’s easily one of the best spots in Fredericksburg. Can’t wait to go back and explore more of their menu!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while but hadn’t made the trip to Fredericksburg, until last night. It surpassed all my expectations. The ambiance is decadent, filled with rich colors and fabrics. The atmosphere was only surpassed by the quality of the food and cocktails. Definitely the best cocktails I’ve ever had, my favorite being the Known Traveler Number. I also had the Banana Old Fashioned and my friend had the Volando Bajito and Volcano Ashes. We also had the Mini Beer Shot at the end. All of the drinks were so smooth and exceptionally crafted.
We tried a number of items from the menu, but my favorites were the duck spring rolls, pernil lovers, seafood arañitas, the crispy chicken wings entree, and the mofongo. I didn’t even get pictures of everything, because I was so excited to eat it. I almost forgot about the complimentary plantain soup served as a palate cleanser…very flavorful and comforting.
This restaurant is a refreshing departure from the expected German and Mexican fare that is normally found. If you’re feeling adventurous or looking for something different, I highly recommend you try The Traveler Collections. Needless to say, I can’t wait to come back with more friends to try the rest of the menu.

This establishment presents itself to be more on the nicer side with unique elevated dishes..
But I did not have such a great experience. Upon entering my group was taken a back by how hot it was (no AC at all was running in the building it was 85° outside) we asked for the A/C to be turned on in the room we were seated in which the waiter did for us. The two pictures I have shown are yes aesthetically pleasing, but they are also the only two good things my group had off the menu. The Churrasco and the Wild Mushroom parpadelle that my group ordered were far from what we expected. Super salty, almost too salty to even eat. The mushroom parpadelle had a very distinct weird flavor that I did not like. And the Churrasco, as I said before was very salty almost like soy sauce. The prices/flavors here on the menu need to be re evaluated. Our waiter was nice, but we would have much rather had a meal somewhere else.

After we sat down, the waitress brought us a sample of the plantain soup and I must say it was delicious.
To drink we ordered the passion fruit lemonade, hibiscus lemonade, pineapple lemonade, regular lemonade and an old fashioned. All the drinks were great.
To eat we ordered the Seafood Arañitas which came packed with seafood and it was really good. The Churrasco with mamposteado rice was delicious. The Pernil Lover was delicious as well. Its a bed of crispy rice with pork on top and they add a cilantro sauce so good! The Borica Flatbread was really good but I think the bread could be a bit thinner. The creamy mushroom risotto was delicious too. I definitely recommend this place and give it a 10/10.

Found this restaurant online and loved the Puerto Rican fusion in their menu. Came with my partner for our birthday celebration and had the most amazing time thanks to Jennifer! I’m Puerto Rican and loved the elevated flavors of the dishes we ordered. As an appetizer, we got the Pernil Lovers. The Asian rice added a beautiful crunch and the pork was tender and delicious. The off menu dish of the day was mofongo. We had it with steak and oh my god, the flavors went amazingly together. Jennifer was truly a gem and made our birthday dinner special. She was very knowledgeable about all of the dishes. Would highly recommend this restaurant for dinner and/or cocktails! We had the banana old fashioned, which was a great spin on your classic old fashioned, as well as the Volando Bajito.

Had dinner here one night. Cute decor and ambiance. Great food. Sadly, Gen Z servers had to make it weird. Smiled and left a generous tip but I would NEVER go back.

We stopped by The Traveler Collections for dinner one evening during a recent trip to Fredericksburg. What an amazing little place. The restaurant is located inside an old house along Main Street. The front room is 1/2 lounge area, 1/2 dining room, plus the bar area. There are two side dining rooms, the “green” room and the “red” room. Even the bathroom is cool! Great vibe and good music throughout the evening. Luckily, we got there early, and we’re able to walk in without a reservation and sit at the bar. The restaurant was short-staffed, “staff on vacations” we were told, quite a few customers had difficulty enduring the service. They needed several other people there!

Our bartender/waiter was Harper, and he did a fantastic job that evening, even though the place got really busy. The craft cocktail selection is extensive and very imaginative, many fun and exciting concoctions. We decided to start with The Navigator and a Banana Old Fashioned, both of which were delicious. The Navigator is a gin cocktail, with citrus and honey, a dash of grapefruit bitters and egg whites. Quite a tasty treat! The Banana Old Fashioned is a rum mixture, with some allspice, banana liqueur and walnut bitters. Delicious! We were also served a small amuse bouche of plantain soup that was a great first taste of things to come.

After discussing the food menu with Harper, our food choices began with the duck spring rolls and the truffled burrata. The duck was perfectly prepared, and the spring rolls fried hot, not greasy at all. A side sweet and sour sauce on the side. The burrata ball was served well chilled, truffle pearls on top, drizzled with a nice balsamic reduction and served with thin garlic toast. Both dishes rate: amazing!

Round two of cocktails included a Floating Petals, a vodka drink with very herbaceous notes, and the Volcano Ashes, a tequila/coconut/orange blend with black lava sea salt sprinkled on top. Both drinks were so good!

We split the crispy chicken entree, a fried chicken breast atop risotto, covered with prosciutto and smoked gouda cheese. Delicious, but a bit salty for our taste. Almost every ingredient had a salt component, and the cumulative effect was the saltiness. For dessert we chose the Tierrita, a parfait glass filled with chocolate mousse and cookie crumbles… sweet and tasty, topped with a huge strawberry! A glass of local Texas Sangiovese accompanied the dessert and was a good pairing!

So many other good things on the menu, we’d definitely go back to try more, cocktails and food! Recommend The Traveler Collections!

Literally everything about our experience here was perfect. Our server Brandon was so sweet and knowledgeable, Andrea and Alex the owners were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. The food, the cocktails, the overall vibe and the interior design was all just so delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu;

We made a dinner reservation for Monday at 7:00. We arrived at 6:45 and were promptly sat. Unfortunately, the 1 server was responsible for every table in the restaurant and I felt terrible they were obviously understaffed. It took 30 mins for the duck spring roll appetizer (the taste was fair, barely warm) and an hour later, we received our entrees. Guests were tired of waiting as we saw at least 5 tables of guests leave. The plating presentation of the salmon was subpar for what we paid for. The wild mushroom parpadelle was tasty. We also enjoyed the mini beer shooter for dessert. The staff did the best with what they had. Tables weren’t bussed at all because the 1 server had too much else to do. We wanted to like this place, but I felt we were oversold and under delivered.

UPDATE: the manager reviewed our issue and absolutely made it right. Thank you!
