So I am usually the one who only writes reviews when I feel compelled to do so, well this is one of those instances.. first the food is great, the service is super and the atmosphere is terrific. I’ve been coming here usually weekly since they opened. Now I have seen reviews on here giving them a one with the reason that the order was messed up or they forgot something etc., I’m here to say that you should NEVER give a review of a one just because of that! People make mistakes and they are human and for those people saying these things, please tell me you’ve NEVER made a mistake… I’ll wait… ok now that, that has been established that you in fact do, EVERYONE does and if they do I have personally witness them make it right or refund or something!!! Please think before you write a bad review or leave a 1 just because of either one bad experience or not getting something with your order!! Sorry I just hate seeing this and I hope my 5 star review takes away all of the 1 star ones!! Highly recommend! Wait staff, owners etc are super friendly and it’s a very family friendly environment!!!

I love this place! It’s a step up from so many cookie cutter Mexican restaurants out there where everything looks n tastes the same but not this place. Food is great and visually pleasing. Been waiting a good while for a Mexican restaurant like this to come to Montpelier and I’ll definitely keep going back and going back and going back! Staff is always so nice n accommodating for dine in or when I get it to go.

A bit of a hole in the wall but the food is fantastic. Chips were fresh and hot, salsa was homemade and very good, pretty mild in spice. We got the chicken avocado salad and chicken enchiladas, both were top notch. The enchiladas in particular were super flavorful, moist, outstanding food. Prices very affordable and service was friendly, definitely would go back often if we lived in the area.

This place usually makes at least one to two mistakes on our orders. They have also left meal orders off for us on both take out and dine in. They never apologize for their mistakes or try to offer anything to fix the situation like a discount or free drink. I’d skip this place I were you.

I am very impressed we had lunch here today this restaurant is extremely clean the staff was all very professional and very nice the quality and taste of the food was extremely good and the portions were big. Would I go back you betcha. I have ate at a lot of Mexican restaurants and this one is probably the best yet me and my family live over an hour away but I’m going to bring them back this weekend. Great job los rancheros grill you rock!!!

A year ago I probably would have given this restaurant 4 stars but I have to give it a 1 today for terrible customer service on 2 consecutive visits. There were multiple mistakes made in our order (things left off that should have been on and vice versa). Also, an entire entrée was missing from our order. We called to let them know we would coming back ASAP to get it but when we arrived it was obvious it was never made in the first place and they didn’t start making it until we let them know we were there to get it. The worst part is they made NO effort to make anything better. They didn’t even offer an “I’m sorry.” Most restaurants would have comped the meal. As options are limited out here you are stuck with this place if you want any Mexican food but buyer beware.

In March 2020, we moved from Richmond where we had plenty of choices for Mexican dining to Montpelier where we had none. When los Rancheros opened, we were somewhat apprehensive to try something brand new but we went ahead one Monday night and ordered our go to Mexican dishes that we were used to in Richmond. The food was spot on!!!!!!! I did notice there is a little bit of wait when busy, but nothing I do not think they can’t figure out as they mature. Staff is very friendly, and the food is very good. Reminded of our favorite Mexican restaurant on Horsepen Road and there is a good reason why….This should be a go to spot for Mexican food in Montpelier for a long time.
