Authentic flavor. I got tamales and tacos and although the meat was a little over cooked, seasoning and toppings were pretty authentic.
I ordered online to pick up and did not paid attention to my order as I was in a hurry, unfortunately when I got home I noticed they forgot one item from my order :/ Need to pay attention next time

I wanted to give this place a fair try, but that never happened. As I walked up to the door around 8:30 PM, a staff member made eye contact with me and locked the door. No explanation, no communication, just locked it.
The restaurant’s posted hours say they’re open until 10 PM. This was rude, unprofessional, and honestly pretty discouraging. I’ve driven by this restaurant many times and wanted to try it, but after this experience, I won’t be back.

Los Portales has the best Mexican food in all of Fairfield County. The waitstaff is pretty friendly too. The only bad thing about Los Portales is that I can’t find a legible menu online anywhere, so I uploaded one here. As for the food, not only is there a wide variety of dishes but the dishes are delicious and authentic. The last time I ate in their restaurant was pre-COVID, but I still get takeout. Every dish that I had of theirs was worth trying, but their gorditas are especially worth trying. This is a steak gordita which they load with toppings. The gorditas only come with pork, chicharron, or cheese. If you want chicken, steak, etc. it costs extra.
