Los Portales was one of our favorite pre pandemic restaurants. Having moved from the area, we dropped in when passing through the area. Quite a bit has changed. The dining area has been spiffed up, and I think the menu has expanded. They still have my Jarritos soft drinks. I have to say, however, that the dishes we sampled were not up to the old standards. I had enchiladas with mole, and my partner had chile rellano. The mole and enchiladas were good, but my refried beans and rice sides were lackluster. The rellano was OK, but the cheese was more like feta than queso. Portions were ample, and although I missed the complementary chips and salsa they used to serve as a starter, I didn’t really need them to be full.

This place is amazing idc what anyone says, i love their food. Every chance i get i’ll convince my parents for us to eat there, we drive out of town just to taste their delicious food again. Not once have they disappointed and i crave their food like every day fr the food always looks delicious and well made, if you don’t go … you’re literally missing out

Not sure what poor experience some folks have had a Los Portales, I can’t imagine a poor experience here – all of mine have been excellent, friendly, delicious, and affordable. You’ll never have to worry about quality or quantity here.

Los Portales is a really nice family restaurant. The service is great, the dining room is decorated well, and the food is super tasty. I recommend the sopes and tostadas, but the tacos are always delicious.

Overpriced food for small portions and tasteless food. My torta was hard and meat was not fresh. They also did not provide any hot sauce which is a inconvenience given the price I paid

I swung by with a friend close to closing time, but the staff didn’t rush us at all. They were already cleaning up the place when we walked in. We took our sweet time ordering a meal for four to go. The staff wasn’t super friendly, but they weren’t rude at all and showed a lot of patience.
We ordered a couple of tacos, sandwiches, guacamole, drinks, and dessert. My favorites were the cemita portales and guacamole, and my partner really enjoyed the torta cubana. The sandwiches were definitely big enough for 2-3 servings for me, and reheated well the next day.
Overall, I’d give it a solid 9/10 for food and value, and I’d definitely come back.
