A let down. It showed up on google maps as Mexican food, and has a Mexican name… but their Mexican food was not the best. Maybe the other ethnicity foods were better.
Wrong bread for a torta, the consomé for queso birria was a tiny sauce cup. Seems like they they have an idea of what Mexican food is but don’t really know what they’re doing and figured, “eh good enough.”

So we’ve been on the hunt for a new authentic Mexican restaurant since our fave got bought out. We decided to try this one out. They have different regional meals which I thought was awesome. But their Mexican menu was all the way in the back. I tried their quesadilla birria and truthfully it was awful. I’m not one to not eat my food but I couldn’t stomach it. The seasonings were off for what a normal birria is. The consommé was bland as heck. No lime no onion nothing. The chips we were served were almost burnt and the salsa tasted like if they took pizza sauce and threw in some cilantro. If I had to go back I’d try something else from their regional menu because I get the feeling they focus more on those than the Mexican food options. Also the charge came back as something along the lines of tropicos and not remotely close to the name of this restaurant.

So let me be honest. My family has been coming here for years. The reason i didn’t post a review sooner is because I want to keep it a secret for myself. Selfish I know! From the first time you try their food you will be hooked and understand why I would like to keep my top restaurant a secret. If you’re craving real Mexican food that hits every note of flavor, warmth, and hospitality, look no further—this place is an absolute treasure. The food? Out of this world. Every dish feels like it was made with care and soul—whether it’s the melt-in-your-mouth carne, or the house-made guacamole that’s so good you’ll want to order it twice. But it’s not just about the food—the service is warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Brush up on your Spanish because you’re going to need it. Happy hour margaritas are perfection and for someone like me, you only need one. The house made sauces hits every taste bud and my kids can’t get enough of the cheese dip. I had to show this place some love because we come here quite often and others should know you exist. Don’t forget to try the burritos that are bigger than your forearm!

The atmosphere and service were great, but honestly I was disappointed with the pupusas. They didn’t taste like authentic Salvadoran pupusas. The masa was very thick, and the salsa served was the same one used for chips, which tasted more Mexican-style. Overall, the pupusas felt more like a Mexican gordita than a traditional pupusa. That said, the tacos were good. As a Salvadoran, I wouldn’t recommend the pupusas here.

They tried to pass chicken and cheese popusas for chicharron and cheese popusas. Even after we told them they weren’t chicharron (which is what we initially had ordered), the waitress still said they were chicharron. We didn’t argue and had packed to go. Later, she comes back and says that they were indeed chicken and cheese popusas. Duh, we told her they were. They also ONLY have Sunny D orange juice for kids. No other choice. Mexican food is Mid to poor. The guac was not fresh. It was getting dark already. Its a horrible place for Mexican, do not recommend!

Ordered here twice and not disappointed at all. Granted it’s been delivery but the papusas are LEGIT and the chips made fresh. Large menu that covered Mexican, el salvadorian, Dominican food.

This place is just mediocre. The food was bland and in need of seasoning. The best part about this restaurant was the music they were playing. The decor of the restaurant needs to be updated. And it was cold inside. They had portable heaters trying to warm up the place. The staff was cordial. However, I wouldn’t eat here again. Oh, they charge 13.5% tax on the food. This seems a bit high. The receipt stated it was state and local taxes.

June 2024 update: This is the 2nd time ive been here, but it has been awhile. I wanted to try the Tamales Guatemaltecos and Baleadas and Barbacoa. The tamale had zero filling even though description said chicken or pork when clicked on it it didnt give me option to choose so I assumed the restaurant would just give me what they wanted to give me. Lmao they gave me nothing! Seriously they just gave me dough with a side of mayo smdh. The barbacoa tacos were bland and two of the tacos were 90 percent fat, I kid you not they gave me big chunks of fat. It was literally 10 percent bland meat. The baleadas were big but came with chicken, brown avocados and scrambled eggs and everything smothered in a mayo type sauce

This was my first time here, I placed order for carne guisado and chicken Tamales Guatemaltecos. I get home and realize they replaced the guisado with another dish Carne adobada de puerco. The flavor is good but I realize its pork – I stopped eating pork. I wish they would have contaced me first or atleast replaced the beef dish with another beef dish. The meal also came with homemade flour tortillas, little lettuce and tomatoes sour cream salad and refried beans and rice and small bag of chips and small cntr of red salsa . Everything had great flavor and was seasoned well. The tamale was flavorful and large and I was surprised it came with whole chicken drum

Our queso dip was cold. The tacos were just okay, some lukewarm some piping hot.
We didn’t even finish the Barbacoa tacos since it was so fatty. The salsa tasted kinda like spegetti sauce.
The horchata was good.
