It’s very rare you get to eat Dominican/Puerto Rican food that tastes EXACTLY like mom made it. I was blown away to find this cozy little restaurant with such amazing food and very welcoming atmosphere. You KNOW the food is on point when the Alcapurria (Puerto Rican fritter) is made with green banana!! It’s much more work and produces a finer taste than Yuca, though they also offer Yuca based. Apparently, the Alcapurrias sell out fast .

They also make fresh Passion Fruit juice (Parcha) and Tamarindo juice. The Passion Fruit juice is to DIE FOR.

Whenever I’m in the area, I’ll have to stop by for a meal here! Absolutely wonderful!

A very humble establishment, yet clean, welcoming, and full of happy energy. The service was super friendly, and the food—oh my goodness—the food is AMAZING.

I’m Dominican and Mofongo is my favorite dish, and I’ve tried it in so many places, including the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, searching for the perfect one. I can honestly say I finally found it here. The seasoning of the meat and the mofongo was perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of garlic, and the chicharrón had the perfect crunch. I’m completely hooked.

I will definitely be coming back. The chef was incredibly sweet and friendly, and when I told him how delicious the food was, he humbly said it’s because he always cooks with love and you can truly taste it. I’ll definitely be back it is now my favorite spot.

This had to be the best Puerto Rican food ever. Reminded me of eating in the actual land of PR. The food was Soo good. The people were so nice. Just the atmosphere convinced me and my husband to book a flight to PR for our next vacation.

The worst Spanish restaurant ever. I ordered pica pollo con tostones. They gave me chicharron de pollo not pica pollo which is 2 different types of chicken. They also gave me the tostones so hard and burn.!!! Never again.

I just left La Morcana’s in Middletown, NY, and this was honestly the last straw for me. The moment I walked in, the girl at the front was on her AirPods, on her phone, and didn’t even look me in the face. No greeting, no acknowledgment, nothing. Her attitude from the start was just rude and unprofessional, and the whole interaction was awkward even though I was being patient and respectful.

When I finally got my order, they somehow managed to catch an attitude with me again—out of nowhere. At this point I’ve given this place way too many chances. I used to come here when it was under the old owners and always tried to give the new team the benefit of the doubt, but the quality is nowhere near the same.

The food looked incredibly dry—like it had been sitting out for hours. I literally watched them pour sauce over food that was clearly old just to make it look fresh. It’s honestly disappointing and a huge red flag for any restaurant.

I wouldn’t go back here or recommend this place to anyone. Between the terrible customer service and the poor food quality, this is easily the worst Spanish restaurant in the area. If you don’t believe me, just walk in and look at the food yourself—you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. Also worth a mention that there was absolutely nowhere to park as they had their driveway completely Blocked off. It’s insane how some people will Treat a person they don’t know who is literally supporting their business. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day here.

I don’t know why This restaurant would play with my food and my money. This way I pay almost $20 for this plate and I get no meat. There’s no meat chunks in there. Feels like they gave me what was on the bottom of the pot.

Okay let me start off saying that I had on my plate before I give this review. I had the roast for the yellow rice and peas Spanish shrimp fried rice. The blood sausage the yucca I have the Chofian The pig feet and nice cold tambourine drink.
Okay, both of my rice was very flavorful. My complete meal had so many different flavors popping into my nose. I had no idea what I was eating because everything holds so much flavor. My yucca my blood sausage, both of my rice and pig feet and my roasted pork serve hot. It all looks so great. It took me some time to pick out my choices. Everything looks so fresh and smells so good before it hits my plate. I must say compliments to the chef. He outdone himself for what I heard. He does this on a daily basis and he’s repetitive in his meals. Hats off to the chef
