One of the best Tex-Mex options in the Greenville area (worth the trip out of town).
As we know, Greenville is riddled with plenty of Mexican food options and there is a large number of styles that each restaurant focuses on. Los Mayas is on the top of the list for pricing, menu options, and taste. I recommend starting with the fajitas and going from there. Get a taste of the beef, chicken, shrimp, rice, and more, then decide where you want to go from there. A fantastic gauge of how your dining experience will be are the chips and salsa and you won’t be disappointed here. Spicy and extremely mild options are given at the table along with a salsa cart on the side.
There are so many different options that everyone will be happy. There’s also a bar in the back if you want to sit and watch the game or get a drink. The service is always fantastic as well! They are kid friendly and food always comes out quick no matter how packed it is.
The only issues I have had are parking can be difficult to find, the restaurant can be very loud, and I have asked the shrimp to be cooked thoroughly a few times but it still comes out a little undercooked for my preference but still cooked through.
I have been here quite a few times and I’ll be back for more. Stop here after a day at the lake!

I’m from Maryland, and I have to be honest…. so far; this is the best Mexican food restaurant I’ve ever been!!!
The service is wonderful, all the girls are amazing, Maria on front, Allie, Sussana, Darcy, and I’m forgetting the first girl who was my waitress the very first time I went there on Friday November the 28th at lunch, she helped me to sign Happy birthday at my table for my friend!!!
I definitely highly recommend “Los Mayas” on that corner next door to the gast station.
Great job Los Mayas!!!!!

Much improved. It’s now our “go to” place. Carnitas are more like Chile Verde but still great. The background music is good, and not too loud. If you could see the lake it would be perfect.

Very nice themed restaurant! Food was very good and delivered quickly. Our server was very courteous.
We enjoyed the decor too.
Family and child friendly.
Parking is okay, could be a little tight.

Good food and good service. They have heavy sauces and lighter sauces for your preference. One of our favorite Mexican places for salsa. Very flavorful. We enjoy going here a lot.

This evening, we had a party of 6 and the food was great! But the service was exceptional! Katy was a wonderful server and we really appreciated her attentiveness.

The food was great, but the service kinda sucked, the hostess was mean to the other employes and was paying more attention to other stuff than the customers, this happened today in los mayas Taylor’s, the hostess had short hair and I think it was dyed; I heard opinions about that before from other people and I saw it myself. Won’t go back I get treated that way or if that person is there, everything else was great!!!

Don’t let the gas station and liquor store next to it throw you off, this is one of the hidden gems in the Greer/Taylors area. I have been coming here since it opened 5 years ago and have nothing but great things to say about this place. The owners are wonderful people and their staff works really hard. It blows my mind that they can take a table of 10’s order without writing anything down and the food comes out exactly how it’s ordered and fast. Even with majority of the seats in the restaurant filled, we have never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes to get our food. Hot, fresh and delicious every single time we come here! Nothing better than spending all day fishing at Lake Robinson and be able to drive across the street for dinner. Definitely recommend Los Mayas for your Mexican fix!

Cool atmosphere, high back booths. Plenty of parking, lunch specials and happy hour. Food was just ok, I found mine to be a bit salty for my taste. My husband liked his, but also said the food was just ok. Give it a try, see what you think!
