Born into a family with 15 children, Jose Ramirez was lucky number 7. He started his pursuit of this dream as a 13-year-old bagboy at a grocery store in what is known as The Highlands area of Denver. He later worked as a server at Las Palmas, working 60-70 hours per week, eventually becoming the server manager. He would work so much that he would oftentimes sleep in his car while providing for his wife, Martha, and his two sons, Luis and Daniel.Jose saved up enough money to open up the first Los Dos Potrillos location in Centennial in 2002. Jose opened this first location of Los Dos with just $5.18 left in his bank account.

We waited about 30-40 min for the table, they were super busy. Service was decent but server seemed a bit grumpy, but I get it… Everyone has an off day. The food was pretty good, nice flavor and the sopapilla was huge, but it wasn’t overly sweet which is good. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I’ll visit them again. But next time I’ll try calling ahead first.

Saw this place on Tik Tok as a must visit while in Colorado. There are several locations but we went to the one in Littleton, Colorado. Food was overly great. Service was over the top. The Atmosphere felt like home. We went on a Monday around 5pm for dinner and it was no wait for a party of 10 people. All the dishes were very large amounts with plenty to take home if you didn’t finish. We tried going to the other location the night before but the wait was 45 minutes. Trust me, it was worth the wait.

Excellent food with quick service at Los Dos Potrillos. We have been several time on our trips to Highlands Ranch. The place is always busy and after 5PM there will be a wait for a table but it is worth the wait. We are working our way through the menu and have not had a bad experience yet. I am partial to the seafood options but the meat and veggies options are solid as well. If you enjoy beer, there is a large selection to go with many other varieties of alcohol. If you are in the area, stop in and enjoy.
