This is authentic! I am a margarita snob, and the skinny here is the best! Justin the adorable and friendly bartender fresh squeezes the limes right in front of you at happy hour. The prices are so reasonable that i had to double check compared to other restaurants just a few blocks away, and the food is fresh and very authentic. This Mexican restaurant should be on your list in your visit to KC!

1st time here. Server Leslie was excellent. Food was authentic. Chips were still warm from being freshly fried. Wow! Chicken in fried tacos for me and a steak burrito for my husband. Frozen margarita on the side. Highly recommend this place.

I do not like giving negative reviews but I seriously have to from our experience tonight! My family has been coming here since before I was born. And when I tell you that we will NEVER go back seriously breaks my heart.

The presentation of the tacos was nice but the Tacos were beyond greasy and the meat was gritty. The tacos were so greasy that the meat broke through the shell. The tops of the taco was the exact opposite. So hard that you could not bite them.

I am speechless over the salsa and to say that it was absolutely disgusting is giving it a compliment. I kid you not open a can of hunts tomato sauce, pour in a pan, turn your burner on high and scorch the life out of it and sprinkle some cumin in it… that is what we were served.

Cheese dip…. It was like watered down scorched off brand cheese whiz that had not been stirred all day. We tossed it all in the trash.

The rice…. What used to be the absolute BEST… was hands down the worst rice I have ever had in my entire life…. It was discolored white mush with small pieces of old dried up, hard rice stirred in.

Sadly I can’t even say anything nice about the chips… because they were store bought chips that were tossed into a fryer and thrown into a white paper bag.

The young woman that answered the phone and that was taking money was very nice!!! The shift manager was speechless and said that he was so sorry but they were training a new cook and that the general manager would reach out to me tomorrow. Issue is…. We were hungry tonight.

Waste of money, gas and without a doubt, spoiled my entire family’s appetite and really was looking forward to a great meal to also follow great conversation of taking my kids down memory lane on all of my memories from the “old” Los Corrals.

Edit: General Manager has never called or returned my phone calls.

…. Okay first off, we ordered margaritas. The service was great! The Margaritas tasted like trash, the margarita mixed seems to be diesel fuel and arsenic. We then received our salsa, it…. appeared to be marinara sauce but I wasn’t sure because it was quite thin. Then we got the hot salsa. It was a little spicy but also marinara sauce. I then ordered another Margarita of a different sort, yet again tasted like fuel and arsenic. Not sure what kind of restaurant this is but 10 years ago, Nothing that I ate today taste the same. Also, by A la carte menu with your meat added to what you’re actually buying like a torta really adds up at the end of the meal, there go, making the meal very expensive and not worth purchasing anything ever from this restaurant.

The Mexican chili is a joke.I don’t even know what it is. Correct sauce tastes like tomato sauce. It is nowhere close to the same as used to be. That’s been for like ten years , we had two baskets of broken up chips tomato sauce for salsa. Waitress was like she had way more important things to do than wait on tables. Burrito spreads, where was this spread? It was a wrapped up pork burrito with melted cheese?

I don’t like to post a negative review but just want to post an honest one. Ordered enchiladas. They look like taquitos very tiny & skinny. shells so thick & hard you could barely cut them & hardly any beef in them. Beef taco had a funny flavor. The sauce was like tomato sauce. Disappointing as we used to go there. Unfortunately, we not be returning.

We’ve been going here off and on for a long time and this time it was not good at all. For starters, the chips came to the table with about a 1/8 of and inch of grease in the bottom of the bowl and to make the salsa taste somewhat decent we had to add a lot of salt. The Mexican chili taste like water with chunks of unflavored pork. My son ordered a pork burrito, pork tamale with rice and that also came to the table with a lot of what looked like water all around the burrito and had no flavor. Needless to say we will not be going back.

Oh dear. I used to love this place! Back in the 70’s it was awesome! I had not been in years but a group of us went a few days ago and the margaritas were ok. The salsa tasted like it had been poured out of a spaghetti sauce jar, and the food was ok but nothing to write home about. It was a Sunday night and there were no other customers I could see…..maybe they weren’t really prepared for customers. Very disappointing.

First The smell was not pleasant when we entered. The lady was nice The salsa tasted like they opened a canned tomato and poured in a bowl! Bland and NO seasoning. Slow service at 2pm on a Sunday. Barely anyone in the place. The food was not attractive and did NOT taste good either. One positive was the guacamole. It was a decent portion and good. Chips were pretty good too. Overall, will never return. Also, spicy margarita was not spicy and a tiny, tiny glass was $14.

Wow has this place changed …. Grin is run this joint now and it has just slowly went down hill .. was once a fav t idk if I will ever go back . Order the Mexican chili today when my order arrived it was a plate with a little bit of chili on one side, a bunch of rice in the middle and then beans on the other side. That is not how that Chili has ever been served. Portion sizes have gone to shit . Wish you the best another Another kc restaurant ran into the ground by corporate America…….sad day in K C
