My Honduran husband wanted ‘comida tipica’ for Father’s day so we decided to try Los Cipotes. Service was basic nothing to brag or complain about. Music was a bit loud but we like Latin music. Wait wasn’t excessive but we weren’t given an free appetizer that you get a some other Latin/Mexican restaurants so the kids were a bit impatient. My beef pasellitos were actually shredded chicken, and although not disagreeable, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. My husband got the fried fish which was a healthy portion. Major drawback that I didn’t appreciate that were were charged for our ice waters in dirty cups.

The service was excellent, with the waitress being exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food arrived hot and freshly prepared, and we didn’t have to wait long to be served.

The food was okay, but very little of our dining experience was enjoyable. When we arrived on this Friday evening, the lone employee was talking on her cell phone. She didn’t greet us or indicate whether or not we should seat ourselves. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We sat down in a booth, and after a few minutes she put two menus on our table while still talking on her phone. She didn’t offer us water or ask for a drink order. Several minutes later she returned without her cell phone to take our order. We had some basic questions about a few of the menu items (“What are tajadas?” “Do you have regular Coke?”). We asked in both English and Spanish, but she wasn’t able to answer them. We couldn’t figure out why this was such a struggle.
After she brought our food, she didn’t return to our table or interact with us except when one of us went to the counter to pay our tab. Shortly after that, she called out from across the room, “I shut the light out. I’m closing.” It was 8:50 pm, and the hours were listed as 6:30 am-10:00 pm. We were finishing the last of our sodas, but we hurriedly put on our coats and headed for the door. She shut out all the lights and headed out the door just after us. She was in her car before we were!
She didn’t clear or clean our table before she went out! She left our dirty dishes and some unfinished food on the table and closed the restaurant! Her not bussing the table left us thinking that cleanliness isn’t a priority at Los Cipotes. Usually we’ll give a restaurant a second chance if we’ve had an average first experience, but not this time. Yuck.
There are several other Central & South American and Hispanic restaurants in Lawrence and Indianapolis that we can and will patronize and enjoy.

Hoy vine aquí al restaurante Los Cipotes, un restaurante hondureño, y fui a comer unas pupusas que no sabían bien. La comida estaba horrible, la salsa no tenía sabor y el repollo era muy simple. Le dije a la señora que la comida estaba muy mal, pero no me dijo disculpe. Estoy muy despepcionada. Si van a cobrar mucho por la comida, tengan cuidado de hacerla bien y con sabor.

Me encantó la comida, todo estaba riquísimo. El pollo con tajadas estaba muy rico y bien hecho. Pero pedí una orden de pupusas para llevar y al llegar a casa me di cuenta de que no incluía el repollo. Aún así, la comida estaba muy rica y volveria a visitar. Quizás solo fue un error.

Me gusto mucho el anviente del restaurante, sin musica fuerte y loca, es mas, no tenian musica sonando: Solo la television estaba ensendida; es un ambiente limpio, agradable, y familiar.
El estacionamiento es facil y amplio, y con facil acceso y salida desde y hacia la Pedlenton Pike.
Me gusto bastante el sabor de la comida. Ordenamos: Pollo Con Tajadas, Pechuga A La Plancha, Baleadas Cencillas y Especiales, y tambien Pupusas de Frijoles y Queso. Tambien las bebidas/aguas fracas tambien estaban muy buenas.
La Señora cosinó delicioso y fue bastante rapida, apesar de estar completamente sola; no se como se las arreglaria en caso de que lleguen bastantes comensales al mismo tiempo?. Me preocupe al pensar de que eso podria ocurrir mientras estabamos alli con mi familia.
La atencion fue buena, pero creo que un poco mas de interacción desde el inicio en el recivimiento ayudaria mucho porque no sabiamos si debiamos escoger mesa por nuestra cuenta o si debiamos esperar a ser dirigidos a una.
Tambien regresar a la mesa y preguntar si todo esta bien y si alguien necesita algo mas, eso siempre ayuda mucho en cuanto a un buen servicio al clientele.
En lo general, Yo les recomiendo este lugar; hay que apoyar a emprendedores balientes ya que no hay muchos.
