Wow is this good! I am a big chicken mole fan, and theirs is excellent. My wife had a vegetarian quesadilla. She says it was the best she has ever had. We eat a lot of Mexican food and aren’t easy to impress!

The food was bad. 2nd time eating here and this time was worse than the 1st. The kids nachos were huge. But the chicken on top was cold. The steak meat was ok. But the chicken breast burrito was no more was it what I asked for. I returned it. The manager or owner was nice the cashier/waitress was rude. Won’t be back again. The salas was bland and not spicy 3 of them

Be Careful of ordering Door Dash from here! They say that they can’t receive it even though the order goes through (the owner said this is a problem but continues anyway). The owner was very nice and offered to provide the food in which I ordered. I declined because I felt it was too much of a hassle on their behalf.

This is my goto spot for breakfast burritos and the occasional agua fresca. The food is always solid and the staff is friendly.
They also have a rotating menu of agua fresca flavors.
My favorites are the chorizo & eggs burrito and the steak & eggs burrito. They are huge. Just a head up, the steak & eggs can get a little messy since it comes with the eggs over medium, so if you’re planning to eat on the go, you might want to pick something with scrambled eggs instead.

The steak & pastor proteins were flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the nachos, which were fully loaded. Kind of on the pricier side, but you can share it amongst 4 people and be content.
They have a karaoke machine, and it was fun to participate when in a group.
Closes early at 9:00pm, and parking could be difficult to find due to it being located across from Lake Merritt.

My partner experienced blatant discrimination here. He was told by a staff member that he could only order to-go because the restaurant was “about to close.” A few minutes later, a Caucasian couple walked in and were immediately seated with menus, water, and full service as if nothing was closing at all.
There’s no way to justify that difference in treatment. It was humiliating and hurtful, and the staff didn’t even attempt to hide it. He left feeling unwelcome and it completely ruined his night. Restaurants should treat every customer with dignity, and that absolutely did not happen here.
We will definitely not be returning, and if you don’t support discrimination or selective service, neither should you.

Why people complain about this place I have no clue. It has good service, clean environment and good food for good price. I still feel this place is underrated. Enough with the 3 stars and below please!
This is our neighborhood spot for mexican food. Nuff said. We usually pig out after long hikes around Redwood Regional Park in Oakland or Tilden in Berkeley. After hiking over 8 miles you do get hungry for some burrito you know what I mean? 😉
Between the two of us we shared:
– spicy steak burrito
– 2 veg tamales as side dish
We always share the spicy steak burrito. It’s a must try people!!! It’s saucy and delicious. Not too light and not too heavy if you share it. Not enough for two people but too much for one so we usually split it and order a side dish like tamales and it works out great. The veg tamales were lovely. We ordered 1 red sauce and green to try. Both were unique and lovely.
Recently people had complained about change in service and ordering so was surprised to find out their service is still great as it used to be. No mess ups no confusion, no lateness. Friendly, fast and efficient.

Tried to eat here at 8pm on Saturday night, an hour before their 9pm close time. Worker at the front told us she was cleaning up getting ready for close and discouraged us from ordering in person dining. We confirmed they weren’t closing for another hour and she said yes close time was 9 but acted as though us ordering would be a major inconvenience. Not a problem, we took her advice and went elsewhere.

I’m so glad I gave this place another try! It’s under new management, and the difference is noticeable right away. The staff is friendlier, the service is much more organized, and the food quality has really stepped up. Everything tasted fresh and was well-prepared. It feels like a completely new experience in the best way. Highly recommend checking it out!
