You would think employees handling food would have common sense to remove the gloves they are using to clean the kitchen with harmful chemicals before touching tortillas and place them in foil paper to go. It is the employer’s responsibility to make sure employees are trained properly. I have submitted my complaint to the Houston Health Department of this incident . See photo attached.

First and Last visit. We came on 2/15/24 around 9am. The cashier attitude was ok. We ordered 4 tacos but the two ladies making the orders had nasty attitudes, one of them snatched the receipt. This was my mother’s first visit so she didn’t really know how the ordering went and they weren’t patient at all, we were the only ones in the store so they weren’t busy. I ordered grilled onions but she gave me raw onions. They don’t even use gloves while handling the food. I just took the order as is. No smile, no thank you, just nasty. To the owner, this is how you lose customers.

If I could give this place a negative star I would. Food was over priced and gross. Tacos labeled at 3$ and at the register they were 3.49$ we told the cashier they needed to change the prices, the agua fresca was labeled two different prices and we called them out also on that, as a business place they need to adjust prices and not confused people. The kitchen ladies had a bad personality, don’t attend to people if you’re gonna be in a bad mood!

It’s been years since I’ve been there. Actually before the pandemic. I used to live close to this establishment. I don’t recall having problems with the service. I do understand about having to pay for the food before ordering. I’ve had to get up and order a additional taco or two.
I remember the fried “Chile de árbol” hot peppers with salt served at the center of each table. I loved the menudo, it’s one of the best in Houston. The breakfast plates are hefty and delicious. I will definitely swing by and try this place out. Friends that have gone there say quality of the food is still good. They are regulars on the way to work.

I’m giving a 4 and nothing higher simply because of the MEAT. Everything is always tender and well cut, no bad pieces. The fajita is always well marinated, the costillas are juicy with a lot of meat, and even their taco meat packs a lot of flavor. Unfortunately the service is no where near 5 stars. From the butcher to the cashiers. Not sure what the deal is but as other people have said, you would think they’d provide better service for the prices they are charging. It’s a shame because not too many good carnicerías in the area. I truly hope they fix that and it can easily be worth the price
