Tldr pretty authentic Mexican food and I’d like to try more of it.
First time coming here and it wasn’t a bad experience, the staff was friendly and pretty quick with my food. I ordered the gordita which was enjoyable but a lil different from what I’m used too have more southern/central Mexican gorditas. I’ll have to try the other dishes. I just wish the salsa verde had more kick because I enjoy the flavor or salsa verde compared to the salsa roja.

Lorena rocks. Food is authentic and inviting. Tastes like home. I got the gordita with asada, and I couldn’t eat it fast enough. Everything, even down to the tortillas, is homemade. If you have been searching for good Mexican food, add this place to the list.

I am so glad I tried Lorena’s tacos! Oh my holy heck… SO good!! We got the chicken and pork tacos with corn tortillas and they were the best tacos I have had in a loooong time. I tried to get her to cater our next event! But it’s just her and one guy working it and they are extremely hard working. I can’t wait to go back! You can get two tacos, rice and beans for $9.

This lovely little family business sits just a block away from where my wife used to work. We would get lunch here frequently and it is just a gem of a restaurant. The family that runs this place is always kind and joyful. This is the kind of authentic Mexican food that makes you feel like you just got invited over to your Abuela’s for dinner. It tastes homemade, real, and delicious.
You’ll not find a better spot this side of town for a cozy little mom and pop restaurant.
Stop on by and give these folks some love. They give it right back to you along with a full belly. You won’t regret it.

Starting this off that i was born and raised in Southern California. Moving to Boise it’s been impossible to find incredible, authentic, delicious Mexican food. Lorena’s has filled that void in my heart. Been back multiple times, always order something different and it’s always absolutely astounding how great every thing is. I refuse to go anywhere else for mexican food in the Treasure Valley.

My sister and I went there last week. We both loved our experience. My sister lives in France and wanted Mexican food. We grew up where there was yummy Mexican food. Since living in Boise the term authentic is used a lot. Lorena’s food IS authentic. Lorena and her nephew were great! I’m going back today with my husband for the breakfast burritos. Can’t wait! I hope Lorena posts the photos we took with her. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Delicious seasoning and marinades, great preparation, all around amazing tacos. Must try!!!
Lorena is a fantastic chef, those are some of the best flavors I’ve had in the Valley. Even if the meat wasn’t my favorite, the sauces were delicious.
At first glance it looks like there wasn’t that much meat on the tacos. However, after my first bite, I realized there was so much flavor from the fillings that you needed a little extra tortilla, the ratio turned out to be great.
The chorizo was very good. Carnitas was good too. The Al Pastor is fantastic. And even though the cuts of Chicharrón weren’t my favorites, the chili Verde sauce on it was great. The last was the chicken adobo, which again, it had very good sauce, and a good chicken, just not my favorite type of taco. It’s very clear that they take a lot of time in preparation, and a lot of pride in putting them together.
All the tacos were on two perfectly grilled tortillas and topped with cilantro and onions, as well as a cucumber with tajin and a few limes. There’s red and green salsa’s on the table. The outside seating was covered and plentiful.
This one is definitely worth trying out and I will be back to try many of the other tacos they offer.

Best Mexican food in the city (in my humble opinion) and my favorite lunch spot by far. They always make extremely delicious food and they’re very friendly and quick. I go 1-3 times a week and they always recognize me and greet me very warmly. The woman who runs it is SUPER sweet and so is her nephew (I think it’s her nephew.) Very reasonably priced as well. My favorites are the mole and chicken enchiladas or the lengua tacos and they are SO GOOD. Rice and beans on the side is a must have too, it hits the spot every time. I’ve also had the ceviche (TOP NOTCH, AMAZING) and one of the tortas. No matter what you order it’s always tasty and satisfying. I love Lorena’s, a true city staple and often the high light of my day. Thank you!!! Cannot recommend enough, would give more stars if I could.
