Went on a Friday — place was packed, of course, it’s Wisconsin fish fry night! Typical Wisconsin Friday. The whole staff was working together seamlessly — getting patrons drinks, seated quickly, and menus in hand. It was my first time here for fish fry, so I didn’t know what to expect, but I’ve got to say, everyone was on their game. The staff was polite, courteous, and efficient. Mixed drinks were great, and the food was exceptional dessert was amazing. Our waitress was professional, friendly, and funny. I’ll definitely be back — an excellent experience all around!

What a unique experience in Green Bay. This spot was recommended to us by several locals, what a gem. The beer selection was great, we had a great discussion with our barman Doug.

Overall decent restaurant but the service was SLOW and it was a random weekday and they were about half empty (or half full depending on how you look at it) and it took over an hour to get any service I tried to order at the bar and kept being told that someone would be around to take my order and it just took forever to happen so long in fact that others who arrived after me decided to leave. The beer selection is great, the environment is cool and the food was actually decent too so it’s sad that service was really not good.

We ordered a perch plate and a blue gill plate Friday night take out. Best fish fry we’ve had in a long time. Service was fantastic and the food was still steaming hot when we got it home. LOVE the red cabbage and potato pancakes.

If you just happened to find this place, wandered in and grabbed a seat at the bar, youd immediately forget whatever reason brought you there to begin with. It’s somehow familiar but new, cozy but spacious, intimate but friendly. The bartender knows every cocktail and happily crafts them. As you wait don’t forget to look around at everyone else’s memories across the ceiling walls, and floor.

Great neighborhood throw back to a time a great German taverns and restaurant. Great atmosphere. Excellent beers and specialty drinks. Food is varied with some German fan favorites. Simply prepared but good. Friendly staff and great bartenders. Some limited stool seats at the bar, but small tables and an auxiliary room can accommodate more people and small gatherings. Parking available.

Born and raised in Sconnie, but I’ve lived in TX for 15 years and was looking for the perfect fish fry, potato pancakes, Brandy old fashioned, and supper club feel during my visit back home. Lorelei Inn was a home run! Owner and waitstaff were spectacular, and all 3 types of fish were great. Even got a ghost story thrown in with the meal.

TLDR: Do not go here if you have a group larger than 7… or if you don’t want a rude hostess.

I called a month ago to make a reservation for a group of 14 to celebrate 2 milestone birthdays in our family. During the call I was told they had to split us into 2 tables of 7 to accommodate us. That’s fine as we’ve been customers for almost 10 years and are well aware what size their dining room is. The call taker asked for my name and said we were all set; no other information given. I called again about an hour before our reservation on the night of just to confirm that all was good and again, call taker said yes, all good. No other information given to us.

Once the entire group arrives, I let the host station know we are ready to be sat and the employee (older, blonde, blue/grey sweater) said “Yes we will seat you but it will be all on one bill.” I tell her no, we would like separate bills as we are 6 separate couples/families/individuals attending this birthday dinner. She said “No. We don’t do that. Groups of 8 or more are automatically one bill.” I tell her it would have been nice of the person answering the phone to tell me that—either time I called— and she said “It’s common knowledge that no restaurants will split bills like that, plus it’s stated on our menu and our website.”

First, no, it is NOT stated anywhere on your website that groups of 8 or more can only be one check. Four of us in the party read your entire website within 5 minutes of you stating that to me. We found no mention of that “policy” and have time stamped screenshots of the website to prove it. Second, yes, it is written on the bottom of your physical menu that groups of 8 or more is one check. How are we supposed to see that when booking the reservation? Especially since your website’s menu is very outdated and no one said on the phone “make sure to read small print on our menu”. Third, I thought you were splitting us into 2 tables of 7, with 2 separate waitresses, so it’s not even a party of over 8 and not needing the “one bill policy”. Forth, no, it is not true that no other restaurants split bills like that. We’ve been to many larger group meals at a variety of locally owned restaurants and ALL of them split our 20+ party’s bills without any complaints.

The hostess then said, with an attitude, that all of us including the birthday men noticed, “fine, we will split your checks into 2 groups of 7”, then she seated us. Our actual waitresses didn’t seem overly happy to be serving 2 groups of 7, but the dining room was also busy and I’m sure they were in the trenches. One table said their waitress was fine; the other table said their waitress seemed annoyed at them the entire time. Not complaining about them (or the fact that one of our tables was served & nearly finished with our meals before the other table even had their food.) Our biggest complaint isn’t even the groups of 8+ bill policy, it’s the attitude the hostess gave the entire time… even after we were seated.

Her tone during the conversation, scour on her face, & lack of customer service skills to rectify the situation is what made our experience poor. A better attitude from her, or even an “I’m sorry for the confusion, here’s what we can do, etc” would have made it less of an issue for our group. Plus after we were sat and waiting to order, several of us heard the hostess complaining to multiple employees that we were being difficult about the 8+ policy. Very mature of you to do that in earshot of all of us.

Overall we felt very unwelcome as a group and everyone, birthday men included, picked up on the poor attitude. The food was outstanding as it always is. This is actually one of the birthday men’s all time favorite restaurants but he said after dinner he does not have any desire to ever come back if that’s how service will be from now on.

To reiterate: normally, we have an awesome time at this restaurant. Food and service are usually fantastic. This experience was terrible.

Looking for a good German style meal? Look no further. We’re in town to watch the KC Chiefs play against the Packers and we’re looking for some German food. We shared a Jager Schnitzel with potato pancake and red cabbage. It was perfect. A bit out of town but worth the drive.

For what the food is I was surprised at the price tag. Almost 40 tacos for a ribeye steak, that’s a bold price point for a ribeye anywhere. Schnitzel was priced pretty hefty too for what it was. I get the need to make money and market “authentic” German food but it seems like cheap food with significant mark ups. Had it not been for a friend wanting to spend his birthday dinner here I wouldn’t suggest. Almost 80 tacos for some mediocre food and 2 old fashioned.
