The St Anne Golf club was beautiful for my daughter’s baby shower. It was so spacious with a beautiful view of the golf course. The manager Matt was an excellent coordinator, who accommodated all my needs. I would definitely recommend having an event at this location. I also see my self booking again with St Anne’s for any future events.

How the hell did I never know about this place? Been living in Middletown for nearly 13 years and this joint is by far the best restaurant in town. Hands down. The wood fired pizzas are exceptional – I don’t know what they do with their sauce, but it’s crazy good. Everything else on the varied menu is terrific and the price point can’t be beat. This is my new “most favorite” place to eat here in the MOT area.

This establishment is located in the middle of a community development. The main feature is the wood burning oven utilized to prepare their pizzas. There are other options and entrees on the menu. However, it is somewhat of limited menu.

The staff is friendly and attentive. Pricing seems higher than comparison alternatives. Outdoor seating is available, but may want to consider weather dynamics.

This was our first visit to the restaurant, located in a scenic community overlooking a golf course. While the entrance is a bit tricky to find, the interior is charmingly decorated. We were looking for something beyond chain restaurants and arrived around 4 p.m., when we were told only wings and pizza were available until the dinner menu began at 5 p.m. Despite not having reservations, we were made to feel welcome and told we could stay and order dinner when the full menu started.

The service was excellent, with our waiter, Michael, being particularly knowledgeable about the menu and attentive throughout our meal. We decided to stay and ordered drinks and appetizers. The buffalo wings were outstanding—charbroiled, hot, and perfectly spiced, while the pork belly-wrapped shrimp were delicious. Drinks were fine, and we were hopeful for the main course.

Unfortunately, the dinner didn’t meet our expectations. I had the airline chicken, which was dry and overcooked, and the kale and sweet potatoes it came with were unevenly cooked. My son’s calamari was perfectly cooked but had too much sauce. My husband’s salmon, however, was spoiled—tasting off and smelling bad. After I tasted it, it was clear it wasn’t edible. The waiter apologized and removed the dish from the check, with the chef offering to prepare a new piece, but my husband declined.

While we appreciated the gesture, the main courses were a letdown compared to the excellent appetizers. Though we weren’t charged for the salmon, we felt they could have done more to make up for the experience, such as offering a complimentary drink or dessert.

We had a yummy date night this week! We enjoyed every dish we ordered and would definitely go back.

We had pepperoni/mushroom/cheese pizza for our appetizer and then ordered the Burger and Airline Chicken as entrees. And for my french fry people, they had a nice crunch and the BBQ sauce was tasty!

I don’t normally write reviews, but after dining @Lore Modern Woodfyre with my family, I felt it was necessary to share our experience so others can make an informed decision.

From the start, the service felt cold and dismissive. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet the staff — especially the managers — made us feel like we were a burden rather than welcomed guests. There was a general air of disorganization throughout the entire visit.

We ordered the filet mignon well done, but it arrived rare. When we flagged this to the server, they said they would inform the manager. A female manager eventually came to our table, but instead of being understanding or helpful, she was defensive and borderline combative. Meanwhile, we could hear the kitchen staff arguing loudly behind the doors — not something you want during a meal.

My daughter’s boyfriend ordered the fish and chips, which came out greasy and drowned in a heavy mayo-based sauce — something that definitely should’ve been served on the side. My husband and I ordered a pizza, which was burnt around the edges, dry, and yet oddly soupy in the center. We barely touched it.

The next day, every single one of us felt off and had to do a juice cleanse just to reset. We hadn’t even finished our meals, but clearly, what we did eat was enough to cause some stomach discomfort.

What stood out the most, beyond the poor food and bad service, was the attitude of the management. They gave off the impression that they didn’t care about customer feedback and were unwilling to take accountability when we brought up our food concerns. They also didn’t offer any discount to us.

I had heard mixed reviews about this place but decided to give it a try anyway. I truly wish I hadn’t. There are so many great restaurants out there — @Lore Modern Woodfyre just isn’t one of them. If I could do 0 stars I would!

Very high-end place. Arguably Delaware’s best kept French restaurant. Try the rabbit, escargot (snail), and duck.
