had lunch here today! food was great, loved the waffle fries, honey mustard sauce, bleu cheeseburger. my husband had the italian sub, hand cut fries and the soup of the day (a gumbo). we also shared the boom boom shrimp appetizer! overall it was fantastic.
only thing was the gumbo was more of a chicken, veg, tomato soup, not really any cajun flavor in it but still good!

I love brunch on Sundays. We try to never miss it. Tori, Hunter, Vaughn and the Chefs make this place what it is. There is no place we’d rather be on Sunday afternoon. Our goal is to try everything on the menu. We dont have far to go. Love you guys.

Longstreet’s Deli offers a rustic, home-like atmosphere with strong visual appeal, immediately noticeable from the corner. Behind the horse hitching post and paned glass, the door, tucked behind a light post, leads to a wide, inviting dining space with wood accents and a spacious, approachable bar. During the day, the bartender will prepare your menu and serve you quickly. The dining room features tables seating four along the three glass windows facing the streets of Petersburg, seating near the back closer to the kitchen, and raised bar tables down the middle. The kitchen is well-positioned in the back, ensuring the focused activity of the chefs and waiters doesn’t become a distraction. Overall, I give Longstreet’s Deli 5 stars. It’s a great spot in downtown Petersburg for a first date, drinks with friends, a business lunch, or watching a game. They even offer free horse parking!

Everyone in our party was delighted with their food! Everything was delicious and the menu had so many choices. Coming from the northeast, we weren’t expecting this quality of deli food in central VA. We will definitely return on a future trip. Just wish there were better seating options – more tables for small parties vice their one long communal central table.

Edit: went back for dinner recently and it was equally good. Friendly staff, my book club had a great time. Tried the chicken salad sandwich and the side salad and onion rings. Still fantastic and comforting.

Space has a nice atmosphere! It’s cozy enough to sit and relax for a longer period with friends and family. Waitstaff doesn’t rush you which is great but on the flip side it’s a bit slow. if you’re starving then it will be frustrating, but If you have the time to wait it’s good. We got the California burger, the Cuban, and the French dip. The burger was pretty good but the avocado on the side wasn’t too fresh. The sweet potato fries were soo delicious! The Cuban was pretty good but a little basic for my taste. The potato salad had too much mayonnaise so was hard to taste anything but that. The French dip was good and the best when you dipped it in the sauce. The drink was an espresso martini that tasted pretty good! Nice hint of coffee and alcohol. Then we got the strawberry shortcake. It wasn’t my favorite, taste a little generic so will pass next time. Still will come back and try new things. Nice place with lots of food options. We paid $60 plus tip. Prices are fair!

The food was the freshest! Everything was prepared to order and screaming hot. Our waitress was friendly and attentive to the point that she noticed things we may have needed before we did. I didn’t have my glasses and she even read my tab for me. The ample menu offered something for everyone and everything is reasonably priced. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We sat in the sunshine since it was so cold outside, big mistake! It ended up being too hot! Be aware!
I had the corned beef Reuben. Best one I’ve had in the tri-city area including Chesterfield. Good balance of meat and Sauerkraut could have used a bit more thousand island dressing otherwise delicious! Service was good, not great. Waitress came by once to refill our glasses then we couldn’t get her attention when we needed another refill and boxes. That won’t stop us from going back though!
