I had dinner reservations tonight to celebrate my birthday and ordered what should have been a simple, satisfying meal: a marinated ribeye, a version of street corn, and a salad. Nothing overly complicated, nothing requiring five-star Michelin wizardry, just the basics executed well.
The pricing certainly suggested we were about to enjoy a world-class dining experience. Sadly, the reality fell far short of that expectation.
Service was essentially nonexistent. Once the food was delivered to the table, no one returned to check on us. No one asked how the meal was. No opportunity was given to address concerns or even request something as simple as a steak knife without flagging someone down.
The food itself was equally disappointing. The ribeye lacked the depth and flavor you would expect from a marinated cut—it was remarkably flat in its flavor profile. The street corn, which should have been vibrant and smoky, arrived so charred it was literally black and inedible.
Dining out, especially for a birthday, is about more than just the food, it’s about the experience. Unfortunately, this evening delivered neither the service nor the quality the price point promised, leaving what should have been a celebratory dinner feeling like a missed opportunity.
From the moment we sat down, Elvin greeted us warmly and made us feel truly taken care of. He was attentive without ever being overbearing, checking in at just the right times and making sure drinks were full, food came out hot, and every detail was spot on. His genuine kindness and professionalism stood out—he treated our celebration like it mattered just as much to him as it did to us.
The food itself was excellent. Steaks cooked to perfection, sides full of flavor, and everything served in a timely manner despite it being a busy night. But what really elevated the night was Elvin’s service. He made thoughtful recommendations, answered every question with patience, and somehow managed to keep the energy upbeat and personal at the same time. When it came time to celebrate my wife’s birthday, he added those extra touches that made her feel special and appreciated, which meant so much to us.
It’s rare these days to find service that feels both professional and personal, but Elvin delivered exactly that. He turned a nice dinner into a night we’ll remember. We left not only full and happy but grateful for the effort he put into making sure everything was perfect.
If you’re heading to LongHorn Steakhouse, I can’t recommend Elvin enough. He is the definition of top-tier service, and he played a huge role in making my wife’s birthday dinner an outstanding experience.
Hubby had the fantastic cheeseburger with extra fries brought out to him.. I had a chopped steak smothered with tasty brown gravy, huge button mushrooms, and sautéed onions. I also had a side salad (ranch and blue cheese on the side, please) with a bowl of requested strawberries!
I haven’t written a review in months, but I had to do so today. Forgive the squashed bread and messy steak photos – I wasn’t planning on doing a review!
I avoided all customers for the photos, but the restaurant wasn’t empty – just gloriously peaceful. I needed that feeling of homey comfort and pampering today. Sarah took over after Margarita had to step away. Sarah took the same great care of us, suggesting a delicious dessert to enjoy.. smiling all the while.
I think we’ve found our Lunch Date Spot. Prices good, service and food exceptional, and if we time it right.. a haven of comfort and relative solitude. Yes, I think we have found it.
See you next week ladies!!!
