They walked away at that point, the manager came to the table and gave a half hearted apology, as I began to speak he walked away. Moments later the server walked to my table to say she was sorry but told him she didn’t want to have a conversation about her training but he insisted.
This was completely unprofessional, this is not how a manger handles a staff member nor is it professional for a staff member to come to a guests table that’s not even hers to continue her complaints.
Both need coaching and trained in being professional and inconsiderate of how they present themselves on a floor in front of guests and the fact they carried on in front a booth with guests trying to eat their dinner is classless!
For my meal, I ordered the 10oz salmon with sides of mac and cheese and a loaded potato. Unfortunately, the salmon fell short of expectations. While it was cooked well, the seasoning and flavor were notably lacking. It didn’t deliver the taste I hoped for, especially considering Longhorn is primarily a steakhouse and not a seafood-focused restaurant. The sides, however, were satisfying. The mac and cheese had a nice, creamy texture, and the loaded potato was delicious with its toppings of cheddar, bacon bits, and green onions.
My guest ordered the 7oz salmon meal with broccoli and a sweet potato. Their meal also shared the same issue—the salmon lacked robust flavor. The sweet potato and broccoli were fresh and well-prepared, complementing the dish well.
We appreciated the military discount offered, which was a thoughtful gesture. While the service was impeccable, the main highlight of the meal—the salmon—didn’t quite meet the standard we were expecting. This experience left us somewhat disappointed given Longhorn’s reputation.
Overall, while the service and sides were commendable, the main course’s lack of seasoning was a letdown. I would recommend focusing on steak options when visiting Longhorn Steakhouse in the future.
