Visiting TAS from QLD we expected an experience. Instead we arrived with no reservation, although it was no where near full, and they tried to place us in a corner with no view. The matre D waved his hands in a sing and dance! We turned to leave, and they still did not offer a better table. It was my husband who turned back and asked for a table with a view. We were then lead to a much nicer table. Why couldn’t we have begun here? We ordered some starter drinks, margarita and cascade beer. We ordered the spicy chicken wings, a medium scotch fillet steak and the beef brisket, 2x broccolini, with two glasses of red. The steak was presented medium-rare, and the brisket was tough like an under slow-cooked corned beef… The broccolini was chargrilled and topped with the same spicy sauce. Very unappealing. $280 later, we were not happy with this meal. We do not recommend this restaurant. We expected so much more from this smokehouse. There appears to be too much emphasis on the decor and staff, instead of the food.

Have been here 3 times in the past week as I’m travelling and on holidays. All 3 times the food has been on point and there was been no difference from day to day with different chefs on. Could not fault any of the food or the service. The service I received from RUBY has been exceptional and the best service I have received anywhere. She is truly an asset to the business. Friendly and very honest and connects well with all patrons and staff. If I could give 6 stars I would. Going to be sad heading home to Victoria and not being able to have the best food and service again for awhile.

Was disappointed with the scotch fillet, I ordered medium rare but it wasn’t medium rare all through. Steak was a bit chewy as well. Not worth the money. Ribs, Mac and cheese and coleslaw had a vinegary tang to it. Otherwise service and atmosphere were good.

We ate at the Longhorn Smokehouse this evening and we were really impressed. The food was excellent. We had the eye fillet steak with fat chips and broccolini. This was the best eye fillet that I have had in a long while. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare and it was cooked to perfection.
The meal was really good. The steak had a very flavoursome smokey taste to it. Just what you would expect from this restaurant. The fat chips were as advertised “nice fat chips”. You also get a choice of two sauces (which is a first). The sauces were really nice.
The atmosphere was ok, the tables were a good size for two.
The pricing for the food was pretty reasonable (menu attached)
If you’re in Hobart and want a great steak I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Wow, our food came out within minutes after ordering. I’ve waited longer at McDonald’s for food. We ordered corn, calamari and deviled eggies. My favourite dish was the calamari with almond puree. I would have happily eaten two of those instead of that and the corn. Yes, the corn is good but the calamari dish was better. Unfortunately, neither of us liked the deviled eggs. We prefer traditional old school style deviled. Double unfortunately, I did not order a cocktail.

Have been here multiple times in the past and it has never failed to impress. You would be hard pressed to find a better meal in Hobart, particularly the steak and calamari. Whatever the chefs are being paid they deserve a raise. The only thing that fell a little short this visit was the lady who took our order being a bit blunt and not very accommodating. Otherwise fantastic meal, vibe and will visit again and again.

Great restaurant for groups or eating solo, many options to choose from on the menu. Great views of the water. Wheelchair friendly, flat/open.
Staff were extremely attentive, and waiting times were minimal. Toilets are available just outside the restaurant. The restaurant is inside the casino, on the first floor.

Recommend by family. The calamari was exceptional, Tender and the sauce Devine. Ribeye was MR to perfection. Chefos nailed it. Apple pie with the cheesy ice cream …. YeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaa.

Went with the share platter to get the best dining experience. Starters main and dessert platters were all thoroughly enjoyed. The only thing I would have liked to see was a bit less brisket and maybe add a steak or something similar. Will be back here to try a steak at some point down the track. Service was top notch also
