We also had the pleasure of meeting Daniel, the chef behind it all, and he was absolutely delightful. You can tell he pours his heart into the food, and it shows. Our service was top-notch from start to finish—attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home.
This place is a must-visit. Can’t recommend it enough! We will be back (many times!!).
Food: Ordered shredded brisket and pork, southwest coleslaw and bbq beans. Shredded brisket and pork were obviously previously frozen, as it was slopped onto the plate in a watery bath. I didn’t eat the pork because the taste and appearance made my stomach turn. My buddy did though. Didn’t appear that they really make the food themselves, just microwaved stuff and threw it on a plate. All the food lacked seasoning. It appeared that the food was probably purchased with some ingredients added to make it appear as an authentic dish. Only thing halfway decent was the cornbread and beer. My buddy who ate all his shredded pork was sprinting to the bathroom within 20 minutes of leaving. Also, there was food items sitting out, half covered by Saran Wrap. Cook wasn’t wearing gloves.
Service: It was okay, but I had to remind the dude about our cornbread, which wasn’t a big deal. Slightly below average.
Atmosphere: Music was loud as hell for some reason. Other than that, it was a cookie cut version of a hole in the wall restaurant with a BBQ sign out front.
Overall: Basically paid $80 for a colon cleanse. I would warn others to stay away.
Update: My buddy that ate the pork has symptoms of food poisoning. He’s been throwing up since we left the restaurant.
Husband ordered a beer and a shot, and the very young waiter commented “wow, that’s a rough drink!” I ordered a vodka, soda, splash of cran. It was the worst drink I’ve ever been served in any establishment! Barely any ice, no bubbles, tasted like they used tap water instead of club soda. I didn’t take more than a second sip. We asked for the check and left.
Update: We had a small party and I decided to pick up a lot of the meats and sides for the event and it went over wonderful! It was so fun to try the different sauces and all the guests left saying they will go to Longhorn Outpost. They are under new management and the pride shows. They make all of their sauces with organic items. All the sides are homemade with exception of the fried dill pickle chips. This is becoming our staple favorite in Green Valley/Sahaurita.
